Hi,
My daughter is on this and has sleep problems anyway but now is going to sleep at 1am ish .She still has a few tantrums and is tearful.

It is very common to get sleep problems with stimulants. They are likely to go away within a few weeks. If they get worse or don't go away, talk to your doc. She might prescribe a lower dosage or a shorter acting formulation or two short acting ones per day, etc. Your daughter may also be switched to a different stimulant. There are many options, the key is to find what is right for the patient.

Make sure your daughter takes her Concerta as early as possible, even if you give it to her in bed and she goes back to sleep.

Good luck.

hi,
the Doc did mention another medication but i cant remember the name .I did say the sleep problem is a nightmare as 1am 24/7 is taking it's toll on me and cant be healthy for her neither.
She has had Concerta in a lower dosage but its been increased but the sleep problems the same.

I just started on concerta at 54 mg a day in the morning. This is my 3rd week and I've found that if I take the concerta after 1230 in the afternoon that I will be awake until after 11 pm. If I drink caffiene then its much worse. Talk to your doctor, thats what I'm going to do. I feel like when I wake up in the morning I am so incredibly tired and haven't slept for days but then once i get moviing I can't get back to sleep even if i tried. Then when i go to bed im so exhausted but sometimes just can't fall alseep.
