I have my 1st doctor's appt. tomorrow for my adhd symptoms. I recently changed insurance companies and when I did so I did not disclose that 6 years ago I was treated for depression/panic attacks. Because I didn't disclose it should I not tell my psychiatrist tomorrow that I was treated for them 6 years back?

When I was treated for depression/panic attacks it was not with the insurance I had previous to my new insurance.

I just don't want my psychiatrist to fill out some form saying I was treated many years ago for these 2 things and then send it to my current insurance. They may say I didn't disclose it and it is common with adhd patients and send me a big bill.

A better question may be can my psychiatrist send all info I give them to my insurance including what I tell them I was treated for in the past?

Can a doctor send information like that to other people without your permission? What about confidentuality? If it turns out you have ADD and may need to take medication then you might want to tell the doc then, because some ADD meds worsen depression and anxiety so you will probably want to avoid them.

If you dont tell your doctor and you do have ADHD maybe you could research medication and see what medications to avoid if you have a history or depression and panick attacks, then you could suggest medication to your doctor for you to try.
