I know someone (no, it's not me..honestly) who has add w/o.
He is prescribed 9 x 5mg dexamphetamine tablets per day. He uses a few in the morning to keep up his concentration at work, and sometimes he takes 9 all at once!!

I have found out that the pills he has left he sells to his mates so they can stay awake all night!!! One of his friends siad to me last week "how does he get those pills? He is so *normal and quiet* when he doesn't take them, your a complete maniac when he does thake them"

I am at a loss as what to do? I have talked to him about it...but I don't think he will change...

I am at a loss as what to do?I'm not sure what you can really do, but you may try and find out just how severe the punishment is if he ever got into trouble with the law concerning this matter, and then ask him if he was aware of what he was risking. In the US the penalties for giving this stuff out, or selling it to others are very stiff. I read a few years ago about a high school kid who got busted for selling his Ritalin to a few class mates and the kid faced a 7 year mandatory minimum sentence for the crime. It was his first offence of any kind, but in the US there are mandatory minimum sentences that are used for certain crimes, and drug crimes are one of them. Mandatory minimum means that there is no possibility for parole, and that the person must serve the entire sentence. I do not agree with mandatory minimum sentences personally, and I feel like a 7 year sentence for something like that kid was arrested for is not fair, especially considering that the average murder sentence served in the US is 7 years.

Good luck, I hope you are able to talk some sense into him.
