I took it, I scored 87 and it said this:

It is highly likely that you are presently suffering from adult attention deficit disorder, according to your responses on this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional immediately.

I literally took this test about 2 days ago. I was procrastinating from my studying (as usual) and came across this quiz. Last time I took it, I scored a 64 ( i think)

This time I took it I scored 58, and it says:

You appear to be suffering from a moderate amount of attention and concentration difficulties according to your responses to this self-report questionnaire.

I scored "59." Moderate.. lowest yet on this thread.... and yet, I think I'm one of the biggest "complainers" (about how I am feeling and doing) on the forum lately :(
I had a perfect score on the TOVA-as good as it gets--99.9%. The neuropsych said it was impossible for me to have ADD. But my psychiatrist said that is because I have perfect hyperfocus.. and when I'm not like that, I have perfect scatteredness... all over the place!!!

Hey, I scored the lowest.

My first attempt was 64(i think, about 2 days ago) and my second attempt(today) is 58.

I did drink caffeine tea, and I am feeling a bit zonish this time around.. not sure if it would affect my results or not.

I scored 78. One thing to remember is that seemingly with regards to test structure, one will probably score quite a bit higher with combined type ADHD than others, as it seems to be a raw measure of symptom count referenced by severity. As combined type ADDers have more symptoms to deal with (inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsisivity), it's only natural that they would score higher.

Like do you have any problems with closeness to family friends?

I answered “no” because all my family and friends are ADD tooooooooooo . . :p .we play by the same ADD social rules, We don’t take turns talking; we all talk at once . . . .

Do these things affect your home life?

I answered “no” because Gary’s ADD bothers me more than my own.

HF,
Are you saying you're a 'combo' ADD/HDer ?

No, I'm purely inattentive.... That's why my score is a bit low, as most of the hyperactive questions don't apply to me -- I'm not very impulsive compared to those with the H factor here, but I tend to be more so than the general population.

That's why my score is a bit low, as most of the hyperactive questions don't apply to me -- I'm not very impulsive compared to those with the H factor here, but I tend to be more so than the general population. The way I understand it, impulsivity occurs in an Inattentive out of sheer frustration, not due to an inherent lack of thought before action. That's why I posted in that other thread (somewhere!) about how confusing it all is! I cannot accurately state that as a child I was impulsive due to frustration or simply failed to think first. I cannot accurately state which applies to my child either (when asked she will reply "I don't know" like many kids do). As an adult I can clearly see the difference, and the diagnosis of predominantly Inattentive is apt. Internet tests do not test to make that distinction, so I always come back Combined and appear to be Combined :faint:...so yes, more impulsive than the general population.

:eyebrow: have I confused everybody else now? I hope so, I think I just sprained my brain getting that out.

And we are all medicated, go figure that one. I plan on retaking them after the adderall. I wish there was a quizz for us on meds that would help us monitor our symptom improvement or lack thereof. Perhaps just rewording some of the questions on the quizzes we have taken and adding a Likert (lick ert) scale, the 1-10 thing, would be helpful.

I may do that and put it in my health journal so we can see what dosage works best. Of course, i will have to wait until i can focus a bit (what's that) and find my neural pathways out of cognitive dysfunction.:D

I believe this condition is contagious . . . .

Brain Strain Ward usually they send you home with a strain. Treatment? Rest, heat and ice, do not over use.

That will make staying awake and posting mighty hard!

We of the MetaSister family have a remedy but I dunno, I think that's

The main problem being we forgot to write down the instructions and now no one remembers what this sprain brain cure was . . .= more strained brains!

Just think of joining this forum as jumping into Barton Springs and not knowing it is a cold spring.

Hmmm this sounds familiar think I have been some where near this before . . . Austin isn’t that where the road construction demon lives? He keeps his little demons moving roads daily, so if ya knew how to get there yesterday it will NOT be the way you will be able to go today . . . .

we directionally challenged just thrive here . . .if you drive long enough you will drive around the world and if it hasn’t been move you may end up back home. . . .then again the road construction demon lives in the Austin area so if your home is in a 100 mile radius you may never find home (the evil laugh will be un-mistakable)

Overall, your responses indicate a high likelihood of ADHD. It's normal to become distracted, unfocused, or rushed at times. Simple steps, such as taking more time to concentrate on each task, can resolve many mild concentration problems. But when these behaviors are frequent, and interfere with your life, they can lead to social, personal, or professional problems. If you are concerned about your behaviors, talk with your doctor. Print this page to take with you to your appointment. It will help you and your doctor address your concerns and determine which treatment, if any, is best.

No, I'm purely inattentive.... That's why my score is a bit low, as most of the hyperactive questions don't apply to me -- I'm not very impulsive compared to those with the H factor here, but I tend to be more so than the general population.
Yep, I've looked at how it determines the 'ADHD-factor', and it does take H into account. So, purely inattentive will have lower scores. It's all very subjective though, as we're all rating ourselves, which, scientifically, is bound to be inaccurate.

It is all quite subjective, I agree mijahe. Another factor is the tendency to compare one to the surrounding environment. I'm sure those who work and live with others like themselves score differently than those who work with those who follow instructions in a similar manner to computers reading punch cards or scanning documents. If one stands out in this manner, I could guess that their score would be naturally higher.

Alternative View: Well, if they replaced "immediately" with "sometime in the future", it wouldn't be very motivating to those who have the disorder. No, I don't think anyone really needs to call 911 or another emergency number. Perhaps it's simply a motivational tactic.

Overall, your responses indicate very severe behaviors that may be consistent with ADHD with possible significant impairment in your home, work, and social life areas.

You reported that you have been diagnosed with ADHD. Overall, your responses suggest very severe ADHD type symptoms. The fact that since beginning treatment your symptoms have not noticeably improved may indicate the need for you and your physician to re-assess your course of treatment. It is very important that you do not stop or make any changes to your treatment without discussing it with your doctor.

If you are concerned about your behaviors, talk to your doctor. Print this page to take with you to your appointment. It will help you and your doctor address your concerns.

I suspect that in rating ourselves, we are actually underestimating our symptoms. I know when I have taken one of these online quizzes and then my husband took it for me answering based on his observations of me, he gives me worse scores than I give myself.

I say: No, you should have answered that "sometimes" because I don't always do (fill in blank).
To which he says: Oh yes you do!

I am newhere, 89. Since i rarely have a temper, it kept my score down. the funny thing is, while taking the test, practicing double kick drum exercises at 176 bbm with the metranome ticking in the background. Trying to build up my feet with the double kicks to play "Wipe Out" on double kick drums. Wipe Out plays at about 160 beats per minute, thus i got power to spare with my kicks.
people keep requesting it, so i decided to learn it on double bass drums to spice it up a bit. Still, do not want my feel to cop out when I do the tune live. The excellent thing about drumming, you can work on note grouping exercises between hands and feet where ever you go. That way I do not go nuts when I get stuck in traffick. I always take a metranome every where I go. I am off topic, but i may have ADD, going to see a doctor Sept 26.
