If scientific research can't be trusted, maybe our earth is really flat. That is why we have scientific inquiry. Do the facts fit the hypothesis? Can it be proved or disproved? It is not about whether we like the results.

Note: not all problems or questions have answers, yet. But we must think logically, even when moved by emotions. The cure for cancer-an emotional quest-through science. But scientists are humans, not gods. Yes question everything but there are answers. Which lead to more questions, which lead to more research, which leads to more data. It is the cycle of inquiry, this is what our brains are wired for.
