I thought some members might find the material on this website helpful on their journey to recovery.

I had forgotten about this site and after going through some of the material can see connections with the characterists of ADD/ADHD and how those characteristics might cause people with ADD to -I hate this term-more suseptible to thought reform techniques. Not in a negative way or put down way but in the same manner that all hereditary and biological differences put people at risk for different types of health problems.

I went back to the site because it is sometimes difficult to sort out what influence abuse, ADD, personality, biological/heredity, and finally, environmental influences (includes relationships, schooling, geographical location, or anything that is not biological or genetic) have on a person's life.

For example, how does someone whose PTSD was caused by abuse, separate the effect of the abuse from their ADD characteristics.

This site is not run by a ministry or other religious entity. It is researched based, has a professional board of directors, and many of the authors have PhD's and research extensively in their field(s).

Please feel free to PM me if you would rather not post on this thread.

Note: If you are reading this post, it is highly likely you or a person close to you has experienced some degree of abuse in a spiritual or religious setting. This is not an anti religious site nor does it promote a specific religion. For those reading this post who have not experienced spiritual abuse, please post with the understanding that spiritual abuse is a devasting life experience and people with PTSD caused by this type of abuse find accusation and condemnation to be potential triggers. Please keep this in mind as you write your response. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
