I have been on conerta for about 2 1/2 years!! And it's helped me do better in school and at home!! And now there is a new patch that i might use!! Is anyone else going or is on the patch? At first I started at 27 then 36 and now i'm at 54mg!! 54 mg helps me alot!!:D

Out of curiosity, if you are getting good results with concerta, why do you want to change. Are you trying to a get longer dosing during the day?

Vickie, I believe the patch is a form of methylphenidate. I cannot use one myself, I am allergic to patch-type adhesives, but it might be a good option for those who forget to take meds or need some other type of sustained release mechanism I suppose.

I realize that concerta and the patch are both methylphenidate with different release mechanisms. I was just curious why the desire to change when the concerta appears to be working. I like to read about the personal experiences individuals are having. These tidbits may come in handy in the quest for optimal medication for my daughter. That, and I am just plain nosy.:D

The patch might be good at school-no work for the nurse. And no pills for her to swallow.

Hey Cassie, I am a mom and worry about my daughter's safety. I think it would be a good idea to change your signature and leave out your age. Even though the administrator's work hard to make sure this forum is safe, there are some people might not be safe, even here.

I sure would feel better for you if you just said Hi I have add and added a favorite saying or something. It would protect you and make all the moms and dads on here worry a lot less.

I want to do the patch instead of the pill because sometimes i don't like to take the pill but i still do!! But first i want to try the patch beacuse i want to see how it works!!But i'll still be on concerta.:D

Thanks for the answer ADHDCutie. I am trying to keep up on the posibilities for my 10 year old daughter. She is currently being titrated up on concerta.
