I was just wondering how many people can almost bring on adrenaline rushes?

I can be sitting somewhere, and think about something with "slight anxiety" and provoke an adrenaline rush.

I can do this many times over, and over again, if I really try.

Adrenaline rushes, normally happen for me generally 2-5x per day, depending on what I am doing.

I dont think this healthy? Is it? Does this happen with everyone?

This is pretty normal in ADDers, actually. Adrenaline is a naturally occurring stimulant, after all. We have lots of "games" we play to creat an adrenaline cascade!

"I bet I can make you react!"
"Let's have an argument!"
"I have so much to worry about!"
"I bet I can bug the daylights out of you!" (kids do lots of this)

Lots of other ones, I am sure.

Crazy

I am unsure about Adrenaline rushes, is that any thing like an anxiety attack?

No, not at all.

I do have some anxiety, but, I can control it.

I think the anxiety provokes the adrenaline, or the adrenaline provokes the anxiety.

Either way, all I need to do is think about something that is slightly anxiety producing, and BAM! I get a spurt of adrenaline.

I remember one time, I was waiting in a line for my number to pop up(that is when you get to go and speak to someone inside the big glass office!) anyways, I could see my number was about 3 away.

As soon as I thought.. oh, my number is coming up... BAM! adrenaline spurt.

I was thinking holy crap! so I tried it again... and BAM, it happend again.

I think i did it about 5 times before I thought..."hmm, maybe I should stop doing that....no wonder I have anxiety"

I have never had an anxiety attack, my anxiety really isnt that bad.

I think the anxiety provokes the adrenaline, or the adrenaline provokes the anxiety.

While this can be a vicious loop as mentioned above the way it is supposed to work is that adrenaline is produced by the amygdale in the limbiric system, in response to a threat from the environment, so that we have the necessary physical ability to fight or flee.

However I have found that internal states of worry can produce the same effect as if the threat were an actual physical occurrence. Chemically the brain doesn’t differienante between actual physical threats or the ones our mind produce on it's own.

Although I rarely feel anxious I have had physical symptoms related to anxiety. According to my doctor who prescribed medication for this I didn't feel the anxiety because I am too distractible to notice I am anxious. Apparently my ADHD doesn't produce anxiety in me like it does in others in fact it prevent me from noticing the anxious emotions produced by situations. However my ADHD doesn't prevent me from noticing the physical pain produced by the chemical response my body has to anxiety.
