my newly wife has adhd, has an enoying problem, blaming other for her lack of organzation skill, if she is missing an item , she automaticaly blames other,
she gets real frustrated when she cant find something she wants. and then her comes the tandrum.
its alway the poor me routine, how nobody is doing for her, she does for everone else. sometimes i feel like a line blocker running up the field trying to block any little thing that i can see.
i just cant understand why she just cant say i dont know where i place it ,
thanks the newly wed hanging in there.
talk about one day at a time , i now know where 12 step came from....:D
but to make you laugh , my brothers call me on the phone and say this
BLUE BAKER TO BLUE LEADER,
IS THE COAST CLEAR
AND I REPLY

Well, is your wife in any type of treatment right now?
Crazy
It is called "transferring", it is when you put your shortcomings on others.
Think of it as a kind of denial, pr a way of avoiding the "awful" truth.
Confronting her with the truth won't help, she has to come to it herself.
It is not a symptom of adhd. My guess is that you could call it a comorbid condition that arose from her living with adhd 24/7 for so long.
Cognitive therapy might help with it, but she has to be the one to want to make it work.

I've never heard of "transferring" before. I have heard of "projecting" though. I believe it was one of Freud's theories.

Transference:
2 : the redirection of feelings and desires and especially of those unconsciously retained from childhood toward a new object (as a psychoanalyst conducting therapy)
transference In psychoanalysis, the patient’s tendency to react toward her analyst as she did originally toward her own parents (or other people central in her early life).
Projection:
b : the attribution of one's own ideas, feelings, or attitudes to other people or to objects; especially : the externalization of blame, guilt, or responsibility as a defense against anxiety
projection In psychoanalytic theory, a mechanism of defense in which various forbidden thoughts and impulses are attributed to another person rather than the self, thus warding off some anxiety (e.g., "I hate you" becomes "You hate me").
Seems to me that the key here is that in the absence of a therapist, it would follow that she may transfer to the closest trusted/loved person, namely her husband. I would think either term would be correct.
