What movie shows the ultimate ADHD feelings to you?

I think Point Break when they are sky diving, and when Kionan Reaves surfs at night and gets a good wave and says it is like when you loose yourself and find yourself at the same time. It's a inner peace and adrenaline rush thing.

Matchstick Man seems to be more OCD issues, I think. But he might be "labeled" as an ADD type.

As Good as It Gets is another character with some OCD issues.

The Aviator was another character with serious OCD issues.

I wonder what diagnosis would be given to those characters today in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Today we have terms like ADD, but back then they used terms like schizophrenia to have a much broader meaning.
I haven't seen Fight Club but do wonder about people like that who fight for sport. That sounds like it might be some complusion perhaps.

I forgot about Phenomanon. You know the part where he says he can feel the life force in the tree. It seems like that to me too. It's like absorbing the nature to the point of becoming a part of it.

Well movies like Fight Club and A Beautiful Mind deal more with schizophrenic delusions Sepia.

"Waking Life" is another one. It's pretty much all philosophy, but it's rotoscope animation, which I'm not a big fan of but it makes me think of ADD. Different styles of animation for different segments of the movie. Shapes and forms alway changing and morphing. interesting and it somtimes hurts my eyes. lol

...waking life... elegantly expresses the emergence of ADD ... ... ... it's the basis to discussions here of the link between allergy and ADD - histamine the common link - histamine the neurotransmitter of the waking state -
<take it away uncontroversial 'Wikiwikipaedia' extract> ...

It has been shown that histaminergic cells have the most wakefulness-related firing pattern of any neuronal type thus far recorded. They fire rapidly during waking, fire more slowly during periods of relaxation/tiredness and completely stop firing during REM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_eye_movement) and non-REM sleep. Histaminergic cells can be recorded firing just before an animal shows signs of waking.

Though - for another thread, I guess ... however - to re-iterate ...

'The Fountainhead' Exactly, Aizlyne! and Rand is/was one of my favorite authors...And the movie was OK. Were ANY of her characters ADD? yes, if we're lumping in expansive mindsets with ADD. ???

The Big Lebowski...
Michael with Travolta. He seems to be in a lot of those movies. His credits are amazing. Torrentino is out there too. Kill Bill just hyperfocus in those movies.
Shame on me, I keep thinking of ditzy people like Meg Ryan or Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon. Marisa Tomei in My Brother Vinne.
I think my fundamental 'impression' of ADD has changed./is changing...

I read through your site references, SB. As I always do. You and Stabile (where are they?) sure have a way of using a whole lot of vocabulary sometimes to say simple stuff... ya hey dare....

.
I've only read the Fountainhead but I want to read Atlas Shrugged soon. She has a lot of interesting thoughts and a very stark philosophy. Some things ring true, not so much for others but in general she has some of the most fascinating characters I have ever encountered in books. I don't think Howard has ADD in particular. I think he is somewhat of a narcisist, but he isn't vain in the same way a narcisist is.

Movie, "Last Action Hero" Do you feel like the character that was in a movie and all of the sudden you are in the real world and don't know what to do?

Jim Henson's "Dark Crystal" strikes me as appealing to the ADD mind. Mainly due to the insane production design by Brian Froud. Lot's of color and strange backgrounds. Lot's to take in . It's almost overstimulation to watch that movie.

Hi Aizlyne,

I noticed you like design and illustration. Could you put some of your work on the creative section of this site. I would like to see some of it. The dream state of ADHD allows many vivid illustration avanues. Stick with it. Let your mind open to the possibilities.

X-ManThank you for your support X-man. :) It feels good to have support for my creative ideas. Especially now since I"m having a bit of difficulty with them. I"m actually working on a painting right now. I have a deviant art page (which regretably hasn't been updated for about three months) but it has some of my work from this past year at college on it. I"ll pm you the link. I would post them here but the files are extremely big. (I'm also a bit shy about it) :o

Thanks again!

I do love movies that have an emphasis on artistic design. I apreciate a hard working and creative artist:) As you can tell from my avatar, "Spirited Away" is another movie that is tremendously detailed with respect to conceptual design.

Ah! but not really ADD related. I digress.:o

The challenge of the unknown is the spark in the eye of the one that trys to achieve it. Isn't that the draw and intrigue of the adventure? The picture already holds you and you are looking to find the correct path. It should hold the same perils that the picture holds and rewards you keep secret. Or, a reflection revisited in the vu to love like in a pastel place you place the balance of your happiness and vunerabilities.

What is thought?

There can be no good without evil, for how would one appreciate what is good without evil as a reference?
