*sigh* A couple of months ago I was dx with ADD. I began taking Adderall and silly me thought things would get a lot better. I didn't understand it would take more than a magic pill. In the meantime, I had a bad reaction to the Adderall. I kept getting severe nausea and couldn't figure out why (ruled out pregnancy, etc.) until my husband remembered that Adderall can cause nausea and diarrhea in some people. As soon as I stopped taking the Adderall the nausea went away. But because i haven't been able to keep any meds down I'm a mess (Effexor, Lemictal).
Anyways, the point I was getting to is that I called my shrink to tell her about the Adderall. She called back and said yes, stop the adderall and that I'll need to restart an intro pack of Lemictal. She said, "treating the bipolar is much more important than the ADD."
This bothered me. She seems to think I'm bipolar and that ADD is only a secondary problem. But from what I've read there's a good chance I'm NOT bipolar but rather the ADD is what's causing my moods to change several times a day or a month and that's the reason for the angry outburts and rage. I'm so frustrated! Any thoughts?
