Hi Everyone,

There is info on my bipolar history in the intro thread here:

http://www.addforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31641

In short form, with my recent ADHD diagnosis I am struggling with adding ADHD drugs to my my bipolar regimen. Was diagnosed with BP1 twenty years ago and have been in med and therapy treatment ever since.

Current BP drugs are Lamictal, Wellbutrin and occasionally clonazepam. ADHD meds tried so far - Ritalin, Dexedrine. Anyone on these combos willing to talk more (at which point I will happily go into more of my experiences and questions).

Thanks!

I don't have the mood cycles or any of that but I get what doctors call the "hypomanic switch" from SSRI drugs and others (strattera effexor etc) and I know that in research people with legit bipolar or even my odd type of it have a much less chance of that reaction from a stimulant

Thanks for that -- it's funny 'cus I was speaking to a new doc this am who suggested the opposite. But again goes to show that everyone is different. I so far haven't had much of a stimulant effect on the stimulants but that changed this weekend so am a little nervous now.

that tends to be subjective so a trial of each is okay at low levels (i think the mania reaction from an amphetamine would be immediate versus the 3 day antidepressant) and then go to what works of either
