I am working on a proposal to present at a major Teacher Institute where thousands of teachers come to take seminars and workshops.

One seminar I would like to offer is based on The Twelve Things Students with ADD Want their Teacher to Know.

I would love to have more input from students so I can make this a session they can really put to use in their teaching. Some questions I am they might ask about are:

homework-turning it in on time-i.e. not forgetting
What about that kid who drums and fidgets-what else can they do?
I have a whole class full of kids, I can't spend that much time with just one.
Some of the things I want to cover are:

Simple ways to teach organizing homework and assignments
Have student write a short paragraph listing the things that help he/she learn best-including where they like to sit.
A simulation of what ADD/ADHD is like
The truth about ADD-most teachers don't know much-and the accommodation file they get is often not much help other than telling them you get extra time for homework and tests, go to a testing room, and so on.
This is not a complete list but I want to know this-if you were presenting this seminar, what are the most important things you would want your teachers to know?

Please share your ideas with me soon! I only get them for 50 minutes.

Thanks so much for your help-I want it to help as many kids with ADD/ADHD as I can by teaching the teachers.

Becky,

It's too bad no one gave you any ideas! have you given your presentation yet?
If so, how did it go? How did the teachers respond to you?

If not, I'm sure I can come up with a few things, but I'm not a teen :(

Thanks, but I was not able to get things together to do the presentation this time. But and working with the research for the next opportunity!
