for some part methylphenidate (mph) seems to make my live eassier.
with things that are dull and/ or repetative, anxious, physical activitys and simple structural improvements.

lately i am making an presentation which needs finishing and i am stuck. i hoped mph would help finishing but it seems to be doing opposite.
with its bodily effects heart raise/ muscle tightning and jittery nature it just seems more like an distraction then a aid! and when it wears of the rebound prevents any usefull time to work.

during complex conversations the same. i am being distracted by mph which makes following the actual conversation and formulating harder.

anyone any advice or such:confused:

Have you discussed any of this with your Dr? I have experienced those side effects that you described from mph, but I stopped taking it many years ago in an effort to find a more therapeutic drug therapy.

Perhaps a smaller, or bigger dose might help you? Perhaps another drug other than mph might help? Talking to your Dr. about any problems you are having with your medication is always a wise step, and ultimately your Dr. will be the one to decide about any change in your therapy.

I'm not sure what else is available in Holland, but in the US there are several other options for your Dr. to choose from. It usually takes some time for most people with this dissorder to find the right drug which works best for them. It also usually takes some time to find the right dose for any particular drug too.

thanks ^

the problem is i have been completely open with my psycho educated coach or guide about this. medication goes through the other channel and with little contact, 3 visits till now 2 with a assistent 1 with the actual dr. and that makes it a bit harder to adress the problem. maybe i am just spitting my gut, but ...

there a few options, not like i can ask for it, mph/ concerta, dextro-amp, strattera or alternative options as imipramine. but as i had read enough on i net i felt wise enough to have my mind set on what i thought was the best, dextro-amphetamin. but my knowledge got me nowhere except portraying me like a know it better then.

so if an change would be done i have to engage it myself.

meanwhile would i be better of with or without it when i make the presantation and conversation?
