:) Hello again,

It has been a very longtime since I posted but I have a question. I have recently tried two different medications for the treatment of anxiety and have had a bad reaction to both.

First I tried Wellbutrin and it brought on my first real anxiety attack so now I'm trying Zoloft. I know they are different classes of drugs so I thought the zoloft would work much better but this one too is making my anxiety worse:eek:

What has been your experience with antidepressants for the treatment of anxiety, so far I think it is a bad solution for me.

Thank you in advance for your advice:D

Risperdal was the only thing that helped. But it also causes an average 20lb weight gain.
Zoloft made me depressed.

Prozac really helped my anxiety a lot (I was totally mellow), but unfortunately it also gave me a movement disorder in my face (which is even more likely on Risperdal - though it is still fairly rare, especially with Prozac). If medication isn't working you might try counseling -- there are techniques that are very helpful in dealing with anxiety. I have definatley been helped through anxiety problems after working with a good counselor.

I think if these medicines make your depression worse, you should not take them. I have never take anti-depressants, alwayse cope with depression by another means.

Wellbutrin is known to cause anxiety problems from time to time.
Give zoloft a reasonable try and talk to your doctor if it does not work out. :)

I take an old TCA, imipramine, for depression, as well as for panic attacks. It works well for me.
