I've been on 30 mg of Adderall XR for nearly a year now, titrating up from 20 mg. It HAD worked really well. But for about the last month or two, you wouldn't believe what I've been doing. I built a retaining wall, organized our garage and put up many shelves, and spent hours and hours last week digging a hole in my back yard so my kids' easy set pool could sit on a flat space. Oh yes, I finished each project much to my husband's amazement. But:

*I didn't think out the details on anything, just started going at it because I wanted to.
*When I was in the midst of "construction", I paid attention to nothing else.
*I can't seem to stop the "drive" to build/improve things around the house.
*My hubby is very afraid of what I'll think of next!!

I've become impulsive, forgetful, irritated if I'm bothered while I'm doing something, and spending too much money again on shopping. I'm eating like a pig too. It's almost like the Adderall is making me worse all of a sudden instead of better! I'm not sure what to do. I think upping the dose would make me too jittery.

hmm... sounds interesting. No offence but when you were in 'the midst of construction and paid attention to nothing else' isn't that what add med's are all about? Sounds like you don't organize and plan enough, and I kinda know what you mean about being impulsive, although about 80% of the time personally i'm less impulsive. Maybe try lowering your dosage back to 20 mg's. Or you could keep the same dose and split it into 15mg's, taken in the morning and afternoon. I find that sometimes if I take all my dose all at once it can bee too much, a little overwhelming, but when I split it up it feel sa lot better. So yeah, try splitting the dose before you lower it.

Sounds like pretty typical hyper focusing. Alot of us do it, the key is to write out the steps to what needs to be done before jumping head first into it.

Meds may help somethings but they're not a magic bullet.

More enegery used = more food needed.
