Hey Guys
Here's somebackground:

My neuropsych's conclusion is that I have extreme hyperactivity and possible GAD.

I'm currently taking 200mg Wellbutrin SR and 5mg Lexapro per day. My Dr. also has me taking adderall IR as needed over the summer (I'm working as Lab tech at a Hospital). Generally I've been ok without taking the adderall, although I still "bounce off of the walls" a lot (other people constantly comment on it).

I was taking 10mg lexapro and 200mg wellbutrin SR per day, and that was extremely helpful at first, but I quickly began to feel "zombified". All of the anxiety that I experience every day (even on lexapro) got a lot better, but I lost a huge part of my motivation.

I'm normally extremely fastidious (i have OCD). I stopped cleaning up after myself, my room turned into a pig stye, and my car had rotting food in it (just the thought of this now makes me extremely uncomfortbale). I was fully aware of the effect that the medication was having on my motivation, but it helped so much with my quality of life that I kept taking it. It's of note that my job performance didn't suffer much though. I think this is because my fear of failure was enough to motivate me to keep trying, although it took far more mental effort than it normally would to get any thing done.

I finally decided to try scaling back the lexapro, and that has helped a lot.

My question is this: My doc has me taking 20mg of Adderall IR a day, but after about 2 weeks of constant use, it stops having any effect and I have to stop for a week and then start again. needless to say, this is a pain.

Do I need to increase my dosage? I have been prescribed up to 30mg a day with the same result.

So he gave you a norepinephrine reuptake drug (wellbutrin) and then decided you have GAD? That hillarious but maybe you'll get some benzos out of it.

Norepinephrine is blamed for alot of anxiety disorders.

yeah I know, but it really helps my hyperactivity, and in comboination with leaxpro the anxiety issues aren't so big...and I do have a prescription for Xanax already although since I started taking the Wellbutrin/lexapro combo, I haven't needed them.

Have you tried any of the more mainstream drugs ie adderall/dexedrine/ritalin? Or is that not possible because of drugs issues?

To be honest i really thought adderall was going to make my SAD go insane but in reality it calmed me down.
