since I started again this past week ( I haven't taken it since like, May) It's like taking forever to kick in....maybe like almost 4 hours? It usually didn't in the past, and I'm in the process of switching PCP's because he is a d-bag.
Is this common for anybody else?

Are you drinking stuff with citric acid? All sorts of juices, most soda, sparkling water, lots of stuff you wouldnt expect to have citric acid does.
Citric acid slows down the absorption of adderall alot. I think its something to do with the special binders they use or some such thing.

All acidic compounds will slow absorbtion. It just has to do with how amphetamine, which is an alkaloid (or base) separates from its acidic salt (ie amphetamine sulfate) and is absorbed in the GI tract. In low pH (acidic) environments, this happens more slowly, and in high pH (basic) environments, it occurs faster. The absorbtion will also take place at different rates based on which acid salt the amphetamine is bound to, which is why (in theory at least) the different salts that the amphetamine molecule is bound to in Adderall cause a slightly more even absorbtion compared to having it bound to only one salt.
So anything acidic can cause slower absorbtion. Similarly, something basic, like an antacid tablet (Tums, Rolaids, etc) will cause faster absorbtion. This can be bad as well, as it often results in more side effects an a greater incidence of peripheral stimulation (ie "body stimulation," increased heart rate and blood pressure, increased body temperature, sweating, etc). In fact, part of the point of paying extra money for Adderall XR is that it has a somewhat more even absorbtion rate, just so you understand that faster is not always better when it comes to absorbtion.
So yeah, don't take it with OJ or sodas, and in general you might want to consider cutting sodas out of your life entirely (they're not overly good for you anyways).
