Im getting general physical discomfort from adderall, everything from jaw clenching, an occaisional twitch, a ball of anxiety in my stomach all the way up to dysphoria. My theory is that this is from the Levo-amps in adderall but i cant be sure.

Does this sound reasonable?

Could be, I dont know why they bother adding them in the first place. The dextro-amphetamine is what helps the ADD plus it's less stimulating for your body like the L-amphetamines are. Dexedrine for some reason though has a worse image than Adderal even though it's less "speed like" if that makes any sense.

i thought that the D isomer was the more 'fun' isomer, and i thought that the fun was the stimulation part? are you sure the L isomer is more stimulating than the d?

The Levo doesnt do much CNS stimulation as far as i understand and its purely physical. It makes your heart work harder/pushs up the blood preassure, does lots of unwanted stuff. Now in theory this could be the cause of the extra euphoric qualities of adderall, which im sure makes it very popular with junkies but isnt what im looking for.

That's what I meant, they L-amphetamines are what cause the physical rush and heart pounding. Not something you want at all if your taking it for medical reasons like ADD.

Junkies say adderall sux and that dex is way better. I dont understand the reasoning behind adding the L amp. I think its for lowering abuse potential. Sounds like to me that L amp's have more side effects. Headaches is the problem I have with adderall. I dont know if its from the L amp or what. Also, I have a very hard time sleeping on adderall.

I know where I live you have to prove you were on dexedrine as a youth with a history of being a "good dexedrine responder" to even obtain a rx for dexedrine... between it being associated with the speed freak culture of the 60's and the diet drug addiction deal in the 70's and even more recently being demonized for use by pilots and the reference to them as "go pills"... and the "Adderall Craze" which i was given "Obetrol" at age 11 which i think is the same as Adderall and it had no value for ADHD then or Hyperactivity more specifically. I think it is more of a business pharmaceutical company think... I imagine in 5 years there will be identical forms of any drug and new combos etc and all more than likely Amphetamines targeted at lessoning abuse potential the most effective drug for my ADHD is short acting dexedrine and abuse has never once been something I take them for

I Dex fails to give you what you want and it probably won't, Dex is good stuff. Demand your doc gives you a trial on Desoxyn. Desoxyn stimulates the muscles in your body far less than Dex.

Ive tried getting my doc to prescribe desoxyn and he would have no part of it. He was prescribing adderall for me. I kept telling him it helped but it was too harsh. Gave me massive headaches and a general icky feeling.
