Thanks for the links! I actually purchased some Pycnogenol based off a couple small articles and after coming across the link that you posted first (on my own). The links don't seems to do much but add anecdotal advice, so it's hard to say what this drug may do. I'll post after a couple weeks on the drug and decribe my thoughts. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience taking this drug.
I read the posts but I don't see a solid connection between antioxidant activity and help for ADD. The Flayvol ad jumps all over the place talking about how balancing acid levels improves circulation which boosts neural transmissions which involves memory and concentration... whoahh... a pretty extreme train of thought with nothing given to back it up.
Antioxidants fight aging by decreasing future cell damage from free radicals, but I think it's a stretch to say free radical damage is a major cause of ADD. (I doubt a ton of free radicals attacked me when I was four and damaged my brain so badly I started to show ADD symptoms.) How is keeping my brain from getting more free radical damage going to reverse a condition that I've had for years?
BTW, I take pycnogenol every day (brand from GNC). It doesn't seem to do a thing for ADD symptoms. Hoping it will make me age more gracefully, and maybe prevent cancer, though!
