I have just recently been diagnosed with ADD and it explains a WHOLE lot about my actions, past and present. Here are some funny things(know I now why they happened) that I have done way more than the most people.

Washed my hair multiple times cause I couldn't remember if I did it or not.

Put the tostitos in the fridge, milk in the cupboard.

Drove past the library, turned around, drove past again!

Went to the mailbox, AGAIN, in the same day.

"Boys! Hang your coats up in the fridge!"

Have gone through a loaf of bread overtoasting it in the oven for one sandwich.

My husband gave up and made 10 sets of each key!

Have spent some serious time finding my van in parking lots(especially when I drove the truck.);)

Took me forever to learn Euchre, but I always have to ask, "What's trump?"

Usually have 40 messages on the answering machine, all listened to!

Constantly dial the wrong number or wrong person. Whoops!

How about everyone else?

You mean there are actually people who don't do those things?

Okay, the can't remember if I JUST did something or not....is me...not necessarily hair...because it takes so much work to do it...but smaller scale things....or perhaps not so much did I just do something but where did I JUST put something...I mean two seconds ago...

Yes can't remember where I left my car in the parking lot.....

I'll make a mental note to do something....I mean a BIG mental note to do something...and it still doesn't get done..and writing it down doesn't give me any guarantees...because I will lose the paper inside all my disorganization...and I lose things inside mydisorganization all the time...so frustrating...thanks for this thread...:)

I have a car that's gray and there are MANY of them around....
My worst nightmare came true one day.....lol....
I walked up to "my" car, thought it odd I didn't lock my door...
jumped in and the seat felt weird....

OMG !!! This is not my car !!!!

I swear my face was on fire....lol...My car was parked the next row over....lol... I just thank goodness the car had no alarm..lol..

Around my house when I can't find something and everyone helps me look, they look every where and I mean every where...lol.. The freezer ? Now why on earth would they think that I would have put my keys in the freezer...silly people....lol...

"OK ! who moved it,because I know I left them on the table"

Joan, write it on your wrist, you can't misplace that.

LOL, Paula.

Reminds me of a similar situation. My husband dropped me off at the store while I ran in real quick and waited at the curb with it running. Another van pulled up and did the same thing. The other van looked VERY similar looking to ours.

Well, the lady from the other van comes out before me(probably because I got distracted and was day dreaming inside, lol). She runs up to our van, hops in, looks at my husband and screams! He replies with a very calm, Hello! She looks over, sees her van and starts laughing hysterically! Classic!

Here's another add thing I do. I am somewhere else mentally when I am writing checks at the store. I have written the wrong year, the wrong store name, wrong amount, etc.

I certainly got a good chuckle out seeing that someone else has done many of my tricks.

I know I have done many other things that my wife always remembers but I must say this is one spot where the poor memory comes in handy

forgetting my own stupidity

OK, this is one of my favourite ADD moments...a few years ago I was in the kitchen of my house talking to a roommate and having a great intellectual conversation..while making coffee! so, I fill up the coffee maker with water....put sugar in the coffee filter and closed the little coffee filter and turned the danged thing on...then turned it off just as quickly, took out the coffee filter and emptied out the sugar and proceeded to put another filter in and filled it with....sugar....again....this time I forgot to shut it off (as I walked away before it started brewing)....came back to the kitchen later to find clear water in the coffee pot....hmmm....I was sure I had put the coffee in...so I open up the little filter compartment and notice a bit of sugar in the bottom...my roommate is standing beside me laughing his *** off (yes, hed did really just want to see if I would notice that I did it a second time which is why he did not tell me). So, istead of being upset, I looked at him and said "I meant to do that, it was an experiment" I took the water, poured it back into the coffee maker, put coffee into a filter, turned on the coffee maker and as I did, I turned to my roommate and said "HA! pre-sweetened coffee" and walked away!

My favorite was when my daughter, Samantha, was nine months old and fell out of her walker down three steps and onto a toy. Screaming and crying , she was hysterical. I pressed her face to me and soothed her and as she kept hysterically crying I pulled her away to talk to her and saw blood down my sweat shirt. I said "Oh S&*(^%$^$%#$^%#" I thought "Call the hospital and tell them we are coming" "No jump in the car and go" "No call the hospital" "NO jump in the car" My best friend was over and she said I literally ran in a circle three or four times before I said "Ok drive me to the phone-----I mean call the emergency room, I mean drive me to the ER"(Sammie had five stitches and was ok, I , on the other hand, needed therapy afterwards)

is there? I hope not. As it is, I'll probably have a big blue blotch on my wrist by the time I'm fifty.

Congrats BTW

Anyone seen Finding Nemo? I'm like Dorey. More than once my daughter has come up to me for something, and I tell her, "just a minute," because I'm doing something that will only take a few more seconds to complete. When I'm done, I notice her standing there and ask, "Why are you just standing there?" She has to remind me that she wanted something and was waiting for me.
