If the child lives in a different county than you, call that county's Child Protection Services or call the USA National Child Abuse Hotline (ChildHelp) 1-800-4-A-CHILDŽ (1-800-422-4453) Here is a good list of what constitutes child abuse http://www.helpguide.org/mental/child_abuse_physical_emotional_sexual_neglect.htm I hope this helps. RADD FullMetalOtaku 09-24-06, 03:57 PM Who is being abused? You have to punish a child with ADHD/BiPolar but there is a certain point at where they can not control themselves and then when you punish them for behavioor they can't help I think that is a bit mean =( Crazy~Feet 09-24-06, 04:17 PM I am not talking about punishment or consequences for bad behavior FMO. FullMetalOtaku 09-26-06, 02:44 PM Oh ok, sorry x_x JmeB78 10-06-06, 07:06 PM Ok, so I only let my kids have 1 hour a day of TV,video games, or computer. I let them ride bikes, and play with their friends for the rest of the time between school out, and dinner at 6pm. Then it is homework time, and after they can draw, read, listen to music quietly, do crafts, kinda like a calm down pireod before they get ready for bed at 7:30. This would be considered child abuse? Crazy~Feet 10-06-06, 07:40 PM Thanks very kindly Miss Apple. I was seeking support and hard information, not trying to cause a controversy here. Situation has been reported to psychiatrist of DXed child and recommendations have been made ;). Imnapl 10-06-06, 07:47 PM The key word here is "reasonable" whatever that means. If we err, hopefully we err on the side of the child. I managed to break the cycle so it's doable for everyone. JmeB78 10-07-06, 12:23 AM OH..........Duh to me:foot:!!!! Sorry, I have issues of my own :eyebrow: haha. Glad to know I read that wrong. I was really getting worried, lol. |
