I have taken Adderall in the past and was all the way up to 90mg in the morning followed by another shot of 30 in the afternoon. I was having problems sleeping and the pills didn't seem to be doing all that much for me, so I took a break for about 6 months. During my break I realized that the pills were helping, but I was overmedicated and was trying to make the pills do all the work for me.

After talking it over with my doctor for a while, he just put me on 40mg in the morning followed by 20 in the afternoon. Well, that night that he wrote out the prescription was the 1 month aniversary of a new relationship that I have just started. Since I usually never get that far, I popped 40mg in at about 6:00pm for the date that night. I quickly realized that I should've stopped at 20 or 30mg (dry mouth, tweaking, jittery, etc). Well, anyway, the date went absolutely perfect and about 4 hours later we ended up fooling around (no intercourse) at the end of the date. The only problem was that I was having a hard time getting/maintaining a full erection. When the time came where she starting messing with me, I couldn't reach "full manhood". I was close, about 80% or so. She didn't seem to notice the "wet noodle effect", and kept going. But on top of not being able to get a full erection, I wasn't able to finish either.

This really bothered me, as it was the first time in which we did this kind of fooling around, and I felt really bad about not being able to finish for her. I didn't want her to think it was her fault, or think that I didn't really like her. I felt so embarrassed and I felt like I ruined the entire night or month.

Since then I am terrified to take the pills as I don't want this to ever happen to me again. I haven't been on another date with her since this happened, but I have taken few pills that way I know there is a low concentration in me whenever we do go out again.


Here are my questions:
Was I having problems because I had just started taking this stimulant again? Or was the problems because I was right in the peak effect of Adderall? Would I have been fine if I had peaked a few hours before and the meds were starting to wear off? Or am I always going to have problems while on a stimulant? If I take the pills consistently for a while, are my sexual problems going to go away?


I hate to ask so many questions, but since I'm in a new relationship, these kind of things are something I really can't experiment with right now. I'm looking for somebody that has had this same experience.

I need to take Adderall because it is giving me a very positive effect in school now, but I can't let this happen again.

Check your blood pressure. the pills might have made your blood pressure go up which could be your problum.
