Adderall seems to be doing next to nothing for my inattentive ADD. Has anyone else experienced less than noticeable effects while on Addy and switched to a medicine that worked better for you? If so, which one was it?

Yes, my child is PI and started on Adderall XR with no appreciable effects, then switched to Concerta, which works very well.

Yes, Adderall did nothing for my son. In fact, it was his worst year ever! Maybe we never got the dosage right. Now he is on Metadate CD it was great for two years, but this year with more demands in Jr. High, it doesn't seem enough.

I had horrible side effects from Adderall so I switched to Ritalin this past week. So far it seems to be doing well, but I imagine it'll be a while before I find the right dose. I'm the combined type though....

I had terrible rebound effects when taking Adderall. I've been taking Strattera for several months now and have found that extremely helpful.

Finding the right med and the right dose for a person is a bit of an art form. . . Don't let a doc convince you that because you don't respond to one stimulant, you won't respond to any.

Adderall works well for me. Concerta made me very sleepy at 18 mg, had no beneficial effect at 36 mg and made me rather irritable at twitchy at 54. Bottom line, everyone's different.
