My doc started me on a Lactimal trial
It has worked wonderes I have had 0 bad days since the trial started, and I am only on 50 MG at this point. I am not one to go on a higher dose than needed.
I had results on 25 MG Can I request that low of a dosage?

I am on lamictal also, and I had the orange starter pack, and everything was fine, after week 5 I went up to 150 mg a day for a week, then 200 mg a day (100 in the am and 100 in the pm). When I started on 200 mg, almost immediatly I developed what I can only describe as "vertigo". I couldn't walk down stairs!! I was also having some cognitive difficulties. My doctor told me to go back to 150, and now I am just on 100 mg a day (50 am 50 pm). I think that lamictal does come in 25 and 50 mg.

I take 25 mg at night for my mood issues (depression get the "hypomanic switch" from all antidepressants) and that is helpful for me, I am not exactly in the "criteria" for bipolar just more or less "SSRI induced mood disorder with predominant manic features" so I am not sure if that would be an appropriate dosage for actual bipolar disorder but I had issues with headaches at doses of 100 mg or above and it tended to make the ADHD issues worsen but I am on the "motherload" of dexedrine to settle me down and concentrate and it alleviated that problem.

Well the doc called in 100 MG for me
I don't notice any difference from 25 to 100
I will ask for 25 MG on my next refill

To be honest, it has really helped e verything from my mood to ADHD to anxiety

I was just put in Lamictal 2 weeks ago today!

I got a starter pack 2. The pills to start with are 25mg.
I was to do 1 25mg for 2 weeks (done)
Then 2 of the 25mg (50mg) for 2 weeks.
Then 3 of the 25mg (75mg) for 1 week.
Then up to the 100mg mark which is a reg 100mg pill.
So yes. They do come in 25mg. I have only been on 2 weeks, no side effects, and do already seem to be feeling better. Not a moody, or intense about all the "things" going on around me.

I just started but I did my research and frankly Pittguy, if you are doing any switching moodwise, that's the criteria for BP NOS.

They do make a 25mg pill. I don't know about the 50mg. I can't give any personal insight because I never took it. Good Luck...

OK we have established that they do, indeed, make the tablet :) have we also established the criteria for hypomania?

Gotta tell ya, hypomania has its way of feeling BETTER and we are trying to avoid that state of mood switching when we have BP of any form now aren't we? :)

Well I think I may have been Bipolar II, not Bipolar I
I never had manic states. I would go from normal to crushing depression
Now I am just kind of level all the time

I actually started feeling better BEFORE I started the medicine though, I think my diet may have had something to do with it
I had been having less than 10 grams of fat per day for alot of years, since the 8th grade..I have been eating more in my diet, and as I said, I was normal for a couple of weeks before starting lactimal-had no cycling....

The other reason I was asking about 25 MG tablet is if I go to grad school, I don't think the student health plan will have prescription coverage so I Will have to pay out of pocket...
