I was previously taking two 18 mg. pills in the morning.. I was just prescribed one 36 mg. pill to take in the morning. Is there any difference here at all? I said my pills don't last all day and this is what my doc did....

Usually when the doctor prescribes to take two doses of a smaller pill, the intention is to stagger the dose or to allow for flexibility of dosage.
Logically, they would be both the same effect except for the cost. 60 18mg pills is almost twice as expensive as 30 36mg pills.
No difference. Maybee you need small dose of I.R at the end if the day.

The difference to me is when i take the 36mg I get EXTREME anxiety in my stomach. I dont usually absorb stress like that so its very noticeable. My doctor alowed me to break it down a little and when i take the first 18mg im good then about midday when i take the second half....woooo the anxiety begins again.
Also if you forget to take it early in the day the 18 mg allows you to not actually go off but if you remember later. Cause you DO NOT want to take the 36 later in the day cause you'll probably be up until 3,4,5am
On that same note, since I find the anxiety worse when i go on and off concerta the 18 allows me to be able to take something on weekends and days where i dont have to do as much without starting and stopping the meds.
Insurance can sometimes treat the dosage differently making you pay for two prescriptions and then you have to get doctors approval for you to have that amount, even tho its the same dosage in the end its more pills.

I take my meds at any time between 7am and 11am. Concerta lasts about 8 hours for me. So, even if I take it at 11am, by 7pm it has worn off. It doesn't seem to affect my sleep a whole lot.
