hi, has anyone ever had probelms with straterra including: increased heart rate, sexual difficulties, and insomnia. i know i am. does anyone know if splitting the dose in half will mitigate these side-effects? e.g. taking 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg at night in contrast to 20 mg in the morning.
my other questions would include: does splitting a dose create the same potent effect as the two combined? or would it be less so because the doses are spread apart.
how exactly does splitting a dose alleviate symptoms, and yet (if i may assume) create the same effect as the two doses taken at the same time.

Okay if a drug is messing with my heart, sleep and ability to have sex I would not want to take any more without first calling the doctor. Any time any thing messes with your heart rate / rythm and or ability to breath continueing to take it without first notifying your physician may lead to serious health consequence. Only a licensed physician is qualified to determine weather or not you should continue Strattera.
i did tlak to him about it and he said that it was perfectly fine. but i don't get it, how can an increased heat rate be fine?

I just went to see my pdoc yesterday for my first follow up since being put on Strattera. Been on the current dose of 80mg for about 6 weeks now and haven't noticed any significant improvement in my ADDish symptoms; neither has my wife. Only have one significant side effect going on and this is urinary hesitancy. Basically gotta go a lot but it's hard/slow going most of the time.
My pdoc said that this probably won't get any better over time but it may improve if I split the dose. 40mg in the morning and 40mg at night. Won't know how it works until I can get my script refilled but that was her suggestion.
