One drug or the other taken isolated, I feel I have a choice of being a short-tempered workaholic, or an utterly driveless television addict. The two together seem somehow like they'd be perfect -- anyone here take these drugs in conjunction with one another?
Actually, yes.
I thought the same thing as you, and the combination actually worked out perfectly for me. I was on Dex first, and while it helped, I felt there was something missing. I've had a nagging depression that SSRI's couldn't fix, so I figured I'd try Strattera (an NRI). Not only has it improved my mood, but I have MUCH better focus now, all the time....not just when on Dex.
I've only been on the Strattera for about a week now, but I can tell a marked difference. Side effects were an initial nausea and "weird" feeling that went away after 2 days. Otherwise, great. The Dex is doing what it is supposed to do, and the Strattera is doing what it is supposed to do....clarity+energy.
I hope it stays this way. Good luck to you if you try the same.

Nice! I'm glad it worked out for you, I'm hopeful it will do the exact same things for me ---
what exactly is your dose like?
Im taking 40 mg dex, and still titrating the strattera - 2x25/day from the sampler bottles for now. I think the strattera may actually decrease the amt of dex needed, or at least improves how it works for me anyway.

I took both together for about 3 months last years and I got tinnitus. One year later, I still have it. Just watch for this if you go for it.

I'm taking this combo right now, because welbrutrin made me break out into hives.

If Strattera metabolizes the same way as Prozac (on 2D6), i'd be wary of taking full doses of them both, together.
Talk to your doctor about the Cytochrome P450 interactions, rather than guessing.

LoL, you've certainly left me guessing what the hell Cytochrome P450 is! Somehow I don't think my doctor will want to tell me about it either.
