For those of you on Zoloft - have you tried it yet? It's WAY cheaper, but I am just wondering if I'm getting the same benefit from it that I did from the name brand.
Is there one manufacturer of the generic that is preferred or should be avoided?

I took generic Zoloft for years and it worked just fine! I never noticed a difference compared to the name brand! Talk to your pharmacist-they are great resources-utilize them!
Best to you in finding the right treatment for your depression. I have been there.

Once Zoloft went generic I was changed to it automatically by the pharmacy. It says zoloft on the script and the pharmacy keeps filling it generically. Not a problem since it works the same for me... I find it to be nice since I'm saving money in the long run for it.

Generics can and usually are just as good as the name brand medications

My mom who suffers from depresion and anxiety disorder also take zoloft and it works for her. By the way, I would liketo share this with you. Last time, we went to Germany for holidays, my mum forgot to take her medications with her, we were really worried because she was bhehaving like a disturbed person, it was the first time that we went to germany and we didn't know where to find a pharmacy. Fortunately enough, I had my computer laptop with me and I tried to search for information on the net and I came across a pharmacy directory http://www.drugdelivery.ca/xx-GM-05-A-xx/Hessen-Pharmacy.aspx . This was really great becauseI could locate a pharmacy in any region of Germany and as we were in Hessen, I choose the Pharmacy Directory for Hessen.
I wanted to share this with you because I don't want anyone to face the problem as we had last time. ;)
