Hey everyone,

I've been looking at this site and find it helpfull to see how other people are reacting to strattera. I started taking it 5 days ago on the 20th of October. The nurse said to take two 40mg pills a day, one before 9am and another one at about 9pm, and to move the pm one earlier if I find it hard to fall asleep at night. I am an 18 year old 155 pound freshmen in college. I have been feeling pretty crappy lately, and it's been constant. Every day I have this pressure in my ears, sore throat, sometimes headaches, tiredness (drained energy feeling), congested nose, and some loss of appetite (which I'm not too concernead about ...right now). Could these be side effects of the Strattera? Isn't 80mg a day a pretty high starting dose? I am also taking 20mg of Lexapro a day before bed. Please send feedback.

On the other hand, Strattera has seemed to put me in a better mood sometimes, despite how crappy I feel physically, and it also seems to get me up in the morning(somtimes, once I'm up I stay up). I haven't noticed a lot of its affect on my concentration yet though, at least not like Adderall affects concentration (I've never had a prescription for Adderall, but I've tried it).

Wow... 80mg does sound *really* high to start out. I went 3 days on each dosage step from 18mg to 40 mg to 60mg to 78mg. Then to 100mg and now I'm at 120mg.

On pretty much every dosage, I've also had trouble falling asleep, even though I take it all in the morning and I go to sleep pretty late (after 2am) every night.

As for sore throat, etc. I haven't really had those problems. But then again, I didn't take as large a starting dose as you did!
