It was hard to decide which forum to put this in, but I think this one is best-It is about panic attacks/anxiety/PTSD and Wellbutrin. Please read the following information about Wellbutrin. I emphasized the items in bold-face type. This info does not say that wellbutrin is absolutely contraindicated. Some people may have no problem or reactions could be dose related. Then read what I wrote below.
Medscape-Wellbutrin Information (http://www.medscape.com/druginfo/dosage?drugid=13509&drugname=Wellbutrin+Oral&monotype=default&cid=med&src=search)

Drug-Disease Contraindications
http://images.medscape.com/pi/features/drugdirectory/dottedline.579x5.gif
Most Significant
Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Central Nervous System Neoplasm, Epilepsy, Head Injury, Seizure due to Abrupt Benzodiazepine Withdrawal, Seizure due to Alcohol Withdrawal
Significant
Alcoholism, Lower Seizure Threshold, Manic Bipolar Disorder, Opioid Dependence, Panic Disorder, Sedative Drug Dependence, Severe Hepatic Disease, Stimulant Drug Dependence, Suicidal Ideation, Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus
Possibly Significant
Acute ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction, Disease of Liver, Feeling Agitated, Hypertension, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Psychotic Disorder, Renal Disease, Weight Loss
I believe my recent bout with PTSD and Panic attacks was precipitated by an increase in my Wellbutrin dosage. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Today, I only took 100mg and have no anxiety symptoms. I feel happy, energetic, and calm. If I were to take the second dose, it would be similar to jumping off a diving board-instant increase in symptoms and what seems like depression, but may just be intense anxiety.
I offer this information to help anyone else who might have these disorders and be taking Wellbutrin-generic bupropion.
