It was hard to decide which forum to put this in, but I think this one is best-It is about panic attacks/anxiety/PTSD and Wellbutrin. Please read the following information about Wellbutrin. I emphasized the items in bold-face type. This info does not say that wellbutrin is absolutely contraindicated. Some people may have no problem or reactions could be dose related. Then read what I wrote below.

I believe my recent bout with PTSD and Panic attacks was precipitated by an increase in my Wellbutrin dosage. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Today, I only took 100mg and have no anxiety symptoms. I feel happy, energetic, and calm. If I were to take the second dose, it would be similar to jumping off a diving board-instant increase in symptoms and what seems like depression, but may just be intense anxiety.

I offer this information to help anyone else who might have these disorders and be taking Wellbutrin-generic bupropion.

Not to point out the obvious but wellbutrins a stimulant and will aggrevate panic/anxiety disorders. While its relatively weak on dopamine action its pretty strong in the norepinephrine department.

When i took it for depression a few years back it made me horribly irritable and more anxiety prone.

The first time I was put on Wellbutrin for depression only, I hated it. I was anxious, angery, hateful and just horrible. Everything annoyed me. I stopped it after 3 days. Now since being dx with add I have agreed to try it again with concerta. I have a some agitation and nervousness, like somethings going to happen and I have to be on guard. I seem to notice this more in the evening time. I had some 150 mg of Wellbutrin and decided to try that instead of the 100 mg of Well. I take both of these meds BID. Lucky for me I'm not working to day. Have really no desire to get with the program. Just wasting time. It seems me that it's due to the Wellb. I was prescribed the anti-depressant because when I was on Adderall XR I started feeling sad and wanted to cry, but tears never came. The switch was good then, but wondering if after 3 weeks, my body is telling me something else.

Radd, I'm having a hard time when I get ready to send a reply that I usually erase what I have written. I know this comes with lack of confidence in my ability to really express my views, either I'm afraid I might hurt someone or I feel that what I have to contribute is really stupid. I will send this you have no idea how hard it is to push the submit key. Why what's going on. I have been like this much of my life. I am hoping with what ever I'll be able to overcome this.

Most of you are awsome and so full of knowledge. I really feel like a total idiot. I am truly sorry to those of you who think I am. I just need to keep on trying. Thanks
