OK.....
I just picked up my script, and it's 90 (10 mg) barr. This may last me up to two months.
I need someone to reassure me that it won't be the worst two months of my recently understood ADHD Life:(.
Anyone up for the challenge:D.
Anyone???.......

So far i've been spared from the horrors of barr but dextrostat was pretty terrible compared to the malls. Getting headaches every single time you rebound is not cool.
God speed man!

Thanks D.B.......but....I was hoping for encouragement ;)
I guess I'll just have to take it 24/7 so there's no rebound.....
I'm sure my Doc will understand...not.
Anyone else out there who's had a positive experience with barr.....There must be one.....somewhere??

I was referring to the dextrostats giving me a headache.
Im sure it wont be all that bad, people are just picky about their brands. :D

I took 5 mg about an hour ago and I feel really mellow. I just want to lie down and stare at the ceiling, but I have a deadline on a project I have to complete.
So...back to the dependable fruit of Africa....JAVA!!:D.
I have more experience with the Barr 10 mg IR tablet than with any other form of dextroamphetamine. The Barr brand IR tablet is what I took for about 5 to 6 years before ever finding out about the Mallinckrodt IR tablets. My prescription was for 200 of the 10 mg IR tablets every month. I would take 20 mg three times a day for a total of 60 mg a day.
I never really thought it was a horrible drug, and it was not that bad at all when compared to the effects of methylphenidate. I think the only bad thing about the Barr is when I compare it to the brand name Dexedrine or the Mallinckrodt dextroamphetamine.
Compared to those two versions of dextroamphetamine, the Barr brand is kind of harsh for most people it seems. That being said, it is still a good drug in my opinion, and if I was not able to aquire the Mallinckrodt IR tablets I would go back to using the Barr version in a second long before I would ever go back to using the methylphenidate.
The one thing I can say for sure about the Barr brand dextroamphetamine IR tablets from my experience is that they were a tad bit more stimulating for me than the brand name Dexedrine IR tablets, or the Mallinckrodt IR tabs. Those two were considerably smoother in their over-all effect compared to the Barr. I never experienced any kind of head aches, or anything other than mild edginess from the Barr brand IR tablets.
I have read other people's reports of their experience with it, and it seems that some people simply hate the Barr brand. I can't really go that far as to say that I hate it, but I will say that I found it to be less therapeutic than the other two I mentioned.
On a positive note, I did find the Barr brand dextroamphetamine IR tablets to be somewhat more therapeutic than the Dextrostat IR tablets. Hope this helps.

To me barr was nothing more than a sugar pill. I got absolutely nothing out of the barr, aspirin is better.

Thanx for the replies lars... and bugs....
What I'm experiencing now, when I take 5 to 10 mg of Barr is an almost drugged stupor feeling. I feel like my brain is moving in slow motion. I receive little or no stimulation from the medicine, and really feel like taking a nap once it kicks in. It's great for anxiety, but seems to be doing hardly anything for my mental acuity.
It seems that I'm getting mostly seratonin effects and very little dopamine effect. I feel really mellow, but pretty unmotivated, which is not that useful since I'm an inattentive ADD.
