Been on conserta for about a week and I am not sure if I can even tell that I am on anything. I am only taking 18mg but so far, I dont know where the money went. It MAY just be a placibo (SP?) effect knda feel a little more alert, my mind is "thinking" a bit more (less dopey feeling) and yes I think I am feeling a little blue and emotional and snappy (as in quick to anger). I almost feel like I stopped taking my Zoloft.

I dont know what I expected but I was hoping for for a personality transplant ;) I guess I will give this a couple of weeks but I have read others that acted like it was a miracle drug on the first day and so far, I am not sure what it is doing to me one way or another.

I took caffeine for the first time with Concerta and it kicked in like nothing before. I finally had that "aha" moment like you describe. The problem was coming down on the caffeine wasn't very friendly.

Does anyone know what adhd medications would provide the energy boost, without the jitters and headaches that come with caffeine? The boost wasn't like a high, that I use to get with caffeine. It was more focused/useful energy. I was able to accomplish so many things last night, and my thoughts were controllable and came easily.

Concerta helps with the sporatic thoughts and feeling of overwhelming energy, but the caffiene provided the kick that made these things work to their maximum effectiveness. Would Ritalin, or Dex provide a similar effect?

I never had an "aha" moment with Ritalin or Concerta.

I did with Adderall, but I'm not exactly sure why there was such a big difference.

Less Caffeine? :)

Seriously though, I agree that caffeine does help boost the effect, but I also find that I have to drink less coffee after taking meds than I do when I don't- or else I become a jittery mess

I don't feel any difference with concerta either, my friends and family do, but I think that they might just be pointing out things just because they know im on meds.

Caffeine made me feel different too, but I don't think it was in a good way, it just made me feel wierd.

My son was like this when he first started Concerta (18mg) Blue, emotional, snappy, and quick to cry. After the first week the doc has us go up to 36 mg and ever since (as far as I can tell) he has been fine with his med's. It just wasn't the right dose for him.

Yeah? Thats about right, its just like it is canceling out my zoloft in this regard. Its been 6 days now and I STILL have a dull headache, I am very talkative and snappy with my kids. I also feel warm, too warm...

I don't feel any different with Concerta but my wife sure does. But when I forget to take it, I am a mess. I assumed that the inattentive mess I become when I don't take the med was because of the med, but my wife points out that without the med I behave just like I did before the meds.

Personality transplant is not what you should be looking for. Don't elevate the dose to quickly, give your body(brain) time to adjust to this medicine.
