I have currently been on strattera for 3 months now, taking 80mg per day.

I noticed a slight change in my abbility to focus after only 2 weeks of taking this stuff. I have been feeling like a zombie for about 3 months now. I can focus better and I dont blurt out things like I used to do but I do still get very distracted and I really dont have any inspiration to do my work. I guess it has help a bit because I do get a little more work done and Im not as stressed but I do neet inspiration to do my job.

I know that many people say give this stuff time but I changed my dosage four times and I dont have another 3 months to get this stuff to work.

I have not tried any other meds so I dont know if they will help anymore than strattera.

Dont get me wrong Strattera did help a bit but I feel like a zombie and I feel slightly lost.( I walk through wrong doors in building I have been going through for years now.)

I talk to my doctor once a month and he says that if it helps a little it is working and he just changes my dosage.

Hi RD592,
It's strange you say you feel lost because I feel the opposite. I have an easier time remembering directions or remembering how to get places once I've been there.

Maybe you should talk to your doctor about adding a little bit of a stimulant medication on top of the strattera. I haven't tried it, but my doc has offered a few times. Like you I find that I'm more productive but I still have to make an effort to motivate myself a lot of days. He says all the rest of his ADHD patients who take strattera take a small dose of stimulant med like adderol or ritalin to get normal energy on top of the better concentration that strattera gives them. With strattera they only need a small dose of stimulant (sometimes tiny) vs the whopping doses people not on strattera often take.

I haven't tried it because there are some major drawbacks in my job to taking a controlled substance. I'm not ready to commit to that yet. But if your life allows it and your doc is willing, maybe the combo could help you even more.

I was wondering if any doctors prescribe small doses of stimulants along with Strattera.

I've been having motivation problems while on Strattera. The Strattera is working well and I can see many benefits from taking it. But, I often feel very unmotivated. I'm not sure if it's the slight grogginess I feel while taking Strattera or if there is something else is going on.

I guess I'll ask my doctor about taking a small dose of some Stimulant. I only feel like I need a small dose. Nothing even remotely close to what I use to take.

Peace! :)
