I'm going to ask my doctor about this next time but thought I would ask you. On the pills it says not to drink alchohol.

Once every two weeks, I have one drink at a get together with some colleages. I rarely get drunk, maybe once a year.

Is that ok?

It's in the evening, about 6-7 hours after I took the last pill.

I would certainlly make it a point to talk to your Dr. about this as you say you are intending to do, but I would not worry too much about drinking one drink.


I have been taking Dexedrine for years, and I have never had any problems associated with drinking alcohol along with the medication. That is my own experience though, and it only speaks for me. However, I have never known anyone who has ever experienced any kind of negative reaction to drinking alcohol while taking Dexedrine.


I happend to have discussed this with my Dr. before several years ago, and my Dr. never told me to not drink alcohol while under the effects of my medication. The only warning my Dr. ever game me with concern to this issue was that I should be aware that the stimulants can mask the effects of the alcohol initially. However, once a person continues to drink more than one or two drinks, the effects of the alcohol will certainlly overcome the effects of the stimulants for most people.

I am very glad you are going to discuss this with your Dr., because your Dr. is ultimately the best person to advise you on these matters.
