Well I guess I learned the hard way about keeping quiet about being on dexedrine. I was talking to a really close friend, and someone else overheard me. He wanted me to sell him some dexedrine, I told him to screw off. I never knew it was that... hot.

I've been told that all of the stimulant ADD meds are very popular for recreational purposes and there is a lot of selling and buying going on, particularly in high schools. Sometimes they're not wanted for recreation but for academic edge. This, I hear from high school students, including my daughter. They are also stolen frequently.

i did the same thing once and the person who heard me wanted me to trade him dexedrine for adderall I told him to see his doctor and leave me alone. I do not like it when that happens. Most of the country seems to be on Adderall and there's a reason why it is not the popular choice for doctors to prescribe dexedrine and my being on it as a child for 5 years and hating Adderall was the only thing that got me a prescription of it and I had to try the Concerta and Adderall XR trend and fail to get them back... went off of then as a teen a lot.

I keep my usage very private. Only my wife, and doctors know.

Well I was told $5/pill... which is quite high considering that's about how much I paid for the bottle after insurance.

However it's not worth losing my perscription over and also definatley not worth 10 years in jail.

:soapbox:
And it's not good to talk about it on a public forum, either. AFAIK you're not supposed to talk about illegal activities here, and it's not unheard of for law enforcement officials to check on forums like this one.

Law enforcement can read this post all they want, there is nothing incriminating.

And I think this thread should be ok... but I don't know all the rules.... I'm just asking if anyone else has had similiar experiences or if this is isolated. So I know if I can expect this in the future at all, or if I should hide my meds.

It is understandable to have the discretion aspect as far as those of us who legally use them and obtain them and when you live in what I like to call a "high prozac" region where just about everyone is on antidepressants... there's a high incidence of everyone being on Adderall a lot too, it tends to slip your mind when you are in a social situation where most of them take psych meds including Adderall yet still have to be shhh about dexedrine consumption because doctors will rarely use that these days as it seems.

I think the only reason the doctor put me on dexedrine is because I was on it back in Grade 6,7,8.

Although this time, he just gave me some tests I did on paper and one I did on the computer. He didn't even have my previous health history, from when I was on dex. And 5 minutes after taking the test and asking why I wanted to go back on medication (I didn't know if I wanted to go back on medication, that's why I was seeing a doctor!) he prescribed it to me. A little bit fast I think.... but it was only a 2 week trial.
