I'mat 40 mgs once a day, but I understand sometimes people take it twice a day?

What's the difference? What improves?

It's an option if you have some side effects. For example, I take 18mg @ breakfast and dinner in order to avoid acid reflux. Some people do this if they have sleep-related side effects, too.

Just know that it's not always possible to get an even split of the dosage. Lilly doesn't make a 20mg caplet, so if you wanted to stay at 40 mg, you'd have to take a 1 15mg and 1 25mg. Note that this would require 2 prescriptions and thus 2 prescription fees/insurance copays.

I take Strattera 2xs a day. The reason being, if I took 80 mg. all at once I would probably have a huge side effects (super agitated {physically})-- I can't really take more than 40mg at once --.
So I take 40 at like 7AM and 40 at about 3PM.
I'm guessing people either split their dose for this reason or because it runs through their system quickly.

I spit my dose of Strattera up twice a day when I first started taking it, when I was increasing my dose level. This helped with the side effects.

Now that I'm at the proper dose level, I take my dose all at once.
