View Full Version : Wow! The house is turning spotless!
neverdoanything 11-11-06, 09:58 PM Okay, I will admit. Before going on medication, I was quite the pig. I would leave dishes on the floor. Laundry would be all over the place. Banana peels in my bedroom.... it was quite disgusting.
Now that I am taking pills. I'm noticing little messes and cleaning them up before they come big messes! And I can concentrate on cleaning without getting distracted. So right now I'm going through a huge cleanup! I hope to have it done by the end of the weekend, but if I don't I will get it done next weekend (I'm super busy during the week days.) It will be nice to see if I can keep the place clean, which is something I've had trouble with all my life. I'm not talking about little messes, my house has always been... unsanitary... it's quite embarassing.
Anyone else have smiliar experiences with dexedrine?
attention 11-11-06, 10:15 PM Good to hear your having success with your meds, i wonder what dosage you are on? it could be to high if you are racing round cleaning, single minded chore behaviour. Crank users often report excessive cleaning behaviour
It could just be the initial amphetamine stimulation that you are not adjusted to yet-enjoy the productive results while they last!, and work with your Doc on dosage.
neverdoanything 11-11-06, 11:15 PM It's quite a low dose methinks, but I'm not entirely sure.
5MG in the morning
5MG at noon.
attention 11-12-06, 01:21 AM Yep 10mgs is a low dose, 10mgs 3x daily is average, with many here on 45-60mgs, so lucky for you!, you MAY become tolerant, so your dose MAY be raised/lowered if you keep cleaning hard out!:)
neverdoanything 11-12-06, 02:25 AM What's crank?
Confuzzled 11-12-06, 02:53 AM I need some of this!
Just out of interest, how long have you been taking it? My brother said he was really hyper the first few days then settled down. As I've only just realised that I also have ADD, I'm curious as to how the meds work.

When were you diagnosed with ADD and what kind of doctor did you see?
neverdoanything 11-12-06, 01:38 PM It's a long story.
This dose I've been taking for a week, and I kind of hope I calm down, because I'm a bit hyper.
But I was on dexedrine back in Grade 6-8 (I'm 20 now) I stopped taking it for reasons I'm not sure of. I was so young back then that I didn't even know why I was taking the medication, so I couldn't tell the doctor if it was effective or not. Although my grades imporved, so I think they looked at that.
I'm seeing a psychologist.
attention 11-12-06, 04:02 PM Crank is smokable street Methamphetamine=nasty nasty stuff.
A week is long enought for you to have calmed down some.
Either you are Bipolar/manic, or paradoxically, in some cases larger doses CAN cause greater calming effects. Maybe Dex is not correct for you?
A PsyDoc would be more appropriate to evalute you-keep in touch with one and find out whats really going on.
I bet your house is clean now!:)
Matt S. 11-13-06, 12:58 PM I take dexedrine and it makes me lazy as hell... I can focus and it calms me the best but I am so Lazy and theres a fine line between slowing rapid thoughts and an OCD feel sometimes too
Claudia_0102 12-10-06, 12:17 AM I just started taking dexedrine today. I too have always been super messy. My mom and dad always complained about the state of my bedroom. Normally i would only be able to focus on cleaning my room for about half an hour and then i got bored. But today i spent about 4 hours cleaning my room and now it looks just spectacular. I quite like this new neat freakness of mine. :D
