Well the pill seemed to be working for me, just in the past week I've been noticing myself getting really irritable. Then today at college, I got really irritated by one of the profressors, then coming home I felt all moody (Not sad... but feeling like crying a bit....) Now I'm dead tired coming home.

What is this? Pills or just coincidence?

Thanks

Did you get enough sleep? Did you take a "vacation" from the pills? I sometimes need to, so that i can "listen" to my body (without meds) and check if my body can keep up with my new energy. If i don't do this, then i can get cranky and moody...

Ok, hopefully this goes away soon. I've just finished my second week of this course of the pills. I talked to my doctor and he told me it was a side effect and to see in a month if it dies down at all.

I am very irritable! Snapping at my father a lot. Or the other day when I was trying to cross a crosswalk and a driver did not stop for me, I flipped him the finger! I would never do that without the pills, and I don't like myself like that.

Some of the things are good though, normally I would just let things settle and not share my 2 cents... so it allows me to be more comfortable with my opinion. But these outbursts are not me, and I don't like it.

Anyone with similar situations?

hmm this is interesting.. I noticed that sometime when I take my ritalin, I can get extremely angry.

So angry that I actually want to release my angry physically on someone or something, and I just about blow up at anyone that dares annoy me.

This is not my normal behaviour. I am very passive, and calm when things go screwy.

I was considering switching from Ritalin to Dex, do you think that these occasional anger issues would get worse for me?

Why do the meds do this to us?

It sounds a little like come down effects. In any event you might try suplamenting with DLPA (500mg or so) & B Complex either once or twice per day on an emply stomic either an hour before or after your dex dose. It's worked wonders for me and I tolerate dex much better... it's like a night and day differance.

What's DLPA?

DL-phenylalanine

Google it... I'm have a hard time finding unbiased information but it's over the counter sold as a nutritional suplament. Good Stuff... I LOVE it with dex.

Norepinephrine tends to make us more agitated than is normal at times. Just kind of a drawback of being on a stimulant.

Now, if you start to seriously thinking about hurting people over these little things its time to give the doctor a call because thats psychotic behaviour.

I got stuck with dextrostat this month so I feel the whole "tired, irritable" aspect to treatment I think the 5 mg tabs last longer than the pathetic 10 mg that brand makes. And no headache but it still isn't as strong as actual brand name Dexedrine... my doctor has me "double up" with generic tabs so that it may at least somewhat help... better than the 10 mg Dextrostat though.
