Can Zoloft and Focalin (IR/XR) be taken together?

Bumping an old topic but I'm still curious about this question.

I don't see why not. I've been on Prozac for years (chemical cousin to Zoloft) and am currently on a trial of 20mg Focalin XR.

Stimulents and SSRI's are frequently taken together. I've heard good reports from some folks, however, it really messed me up. I was on Prozac (SSRI) and Concerta (methlephenidate) and the combination changed the way my body responded to meds, so that now if I take either, I get tics. I also had some pretty scary hallucinations on the combo. I may just be a weird exception though.:rolleyes:

Its OK Scatt, weird is par for the course here at ADDF {{{HUGS}}}

Focalin is an alternative form of methylphenidate. I presume that means it can be taken with Zoloft, although I myself got pretty messed up using meds with a SSNRI myself...the Great Gabitril Fiasco of 2006....

Hey Crazy, ever wonder if anybody is keeping track of the bad reactions to combinations of medications?

ScatteredIf they are not? Then they ought to be...maybe we need a poll?

"Have you ever had a bad reaction to a COMBINATION of certain medicines? (not a bad reaction to just one!)"

How do you add a poll to a topic allready created?

I may ask the doctor about focalin since I read/hear that it causes fewer side effects than other meds.
