Does anyone else here have experience taking dexedrine for "only" half of the day -- for example taking spansules in the morning which deliver two four hour seperated bursts -- and then you spend the latter half of the day "unmedicated" I guess --

Everyone is differant. Stimulants do sometimes cause people with ADD to become emotionaly withdrawn and this is a normal and common side effect. If you can tolerate being unmedicated it's never a bad idea for some "down time" to allow your brain to recover from the side effects of medications. Your dose may also be too high. It might be better to use a lower dose later in the day if you feel all day treatment is needed. You might also put wellbutrin in the mix as it can help with both ADD and sometimes has possitive effects on ones sex drive unlike traditional SSRI's. If your having dalusions at all you should relate this to your doctor. You didn't say what dose your on but amphetamine phycosis is real althrough very, very rare in those being treated for ADD.

For some people amphetamines activate their logic circuits a little bit to much, i actually enjoy that aspect of it. I wouldnt call it delusional exactly.
