I have problems with waking up. I am always so tired. I can sleep forever, and I dont believe it is depression.

I heard it could be related to sleep apnea, and/or low iron.

Is chicken a good source of protein for iron? I dont eat beef at all, and I only eat fish or pork like once every 3 weeks.

So I eat chicken, or eggs almost daily.

Would this give me enough iron?

Was wondering by process of elimination why I am so tired.

thanks.

I don't think chicken is particularly rich in iron. It is good for protien and aminos like lysine. Liver is a good source of iron. I think spinich might be a good one too.

Yes, I have obstructive sleep apnea and getting it treated really improved my ability to sleep and actually wake up rested.
Lots of things can cause you to feel tired. Depression comes to mind as one cause.... and then diabetes also comes to mind...You should talk to your doc about it.

Getting lots of rest is good for disorders like adhd... in fact, a lack of sleep can cause add-like symptoms in an otherwise normal person.

Sleep apnea could definitely be a cause of your tiredness. Once my husband was diagnosed (usually takes an observation night or two at a sleep lab) and started using the recommended device (called C-PAP), he needed less sleep and awakens rested. (God, this sounds like a product endorsement ad.) Important to remember: sleep apnea can damage your health (particularly cardiac) in addition to leaving you tired.

I also think ADDers need more sleep.
