well, hmmm. I'm not sure what to think. Took my first 36 mg dose two hours ago. So far, I'm not really sure if it's having much of an effect at all. A couple of observations.

Anxiety level: doesn't seem worse, but not really lessened either

Mild headache

Do feel a BIT more focussed.

Not sure if calmer, maybe a bit slower. Less hyperness. I THINK.

Don't feel relaxed

so, that's that.

one question. on average, when do you start to notice the effects wearing off?

I feel the same as you on 36mg, Ive written to my doctor asking if it needs to be upped because I don't notice anything that makes any difference to me.

so, at first I was feeling like 36mg might be too little, later it seemed to be too much. I took it at 10:30 am. Didn't really notice anything till around 1pm. Yes I did feel a bit more focussed but at the same time was having troub le thinking, was trying to write a cover letter and couldn't do it. Around 4pm I got this very eerie sense of quiet mind, which just felt strange. Then I sort of alternated between feeling calm but slightly robotic with feeling anxious/jittery. Headache increasing and peaked around 10pm. At 8:30pm I went to a friend's house and became very agitated jittery etc and was feeling a bit stoned. Came home at 11:30 and continued to feel anxious. Played online scrabble and watched TV until 2am, when I went to sleep. Slept pretty well (till I was awakened at like 7am by the incredibly annoying construction going on in my neighborhood). I did not want to have any coffee when I woke up, still have not had any and it is after 11am.

Overall, not a terrible eperience but not great either. I'm leaning towards trying a lower dose, maybe 18.


Anyone have any thoughts, and has anyone had similar experiences?

yeah, i take 5mg three times a day, works great. I notice if i take 10mg dosage i feel somewhat hyper and that's not the effect I am looking for. Just calm and focused. I'm thinking that if I started with 10 mg tid at the beginning I probably would have discontinued methylphenidate and figured I could not tolarate it. I believe 10mg tid is equivalent to 36mg of concerta. Yes I would start at 18mg of concerta and increase gradually.

I did not feel any great effect until I was on 54mg.

While I was at school one day,during one of my classes I thought I was going to pass out because of Nausea/upset stomach.

oh and any you guys getting the feeling of diarrhea,but don't have to "go"?(serious,question.)
