I'm thankful that the increase in my AD seems to be working

Which enables me to feel truly thankful for:

my children and husband and the fact that all of them are in reasonably good shape,

these forums

the fact that it's finally gotten colder

the fact that Thanksgiving is not, for me, the high-stress holiday it seems to be for many people. My wonderful aunt insists on hosting and cooking most of the food; the people who come are cousins who are the only easygoing members of my family.

the fact that I'm a vegetarian so I don't care how the damned turkey turns out.

I don't celebrate thanksgiving day, personally, but I am grateful for many things.

I'm grateful for the wonderful, caring, loving people who are in my life.

For my blessed health, and the amazing Doctors who stand by me, to ensure my health is at it's 'best'.

For my job, not only for being able to that well, and for getting paid to do it, allowing me to be able to enjoy the material comforts, I have.

For inner strength, to continue to *observe* things, from all different 'angles'..and not get too caught up, in mundane matters, which always *change* anyways...and always for the better.

For having 'faith'..in myself, and in 'all' who help me, in 'moving forward', and not being critical, when I have a difficulty doing that, at times.

For being able to enjoy beauty, in whatever form it takes shape.

For all that, and much, much more..I am always grateful.

Well.... it is not Thanksgiving in Canada, but I am Thankful.
I am Thankful that I only have ADD and mild OCD and not something scary as bipolar or borderline personailty disorder.
I am Thankful that I have relativly good health, a roof over my head and a loving family.
I am Thankful that I have a little sister ( though I will never admit it to her face) so that I have someone to talk to.
And I am Thankful that there are people in this world who don`t judge me just because I have 2 mental disorders.

I have a loving online family.

I have great kids!

I have adorable kittens who give excellent fuzz-therapy.

I am back on Lamictal and off that crazy Topomax!

I have wonderful programs and tons of image files to keep me busy when my internet gets temporarily cut off (but that bit will stink on ice :( I am gonna miss this place!).

I have a "guardian angel" who gave me a hand up when I desperately needed it! You know who you are an I think you from the bottom of my heart!

I can still walk--they told me I would need knee surgery by this time but my DJD seems to have stopped progressing so rapidly--yipee!

I am thankful...

For my kids

My family

My friends here, and across the US and overseas!

For my job, my home....

For all the gifts God has givin me, and the ability to appreciate them more and more.

For the gift of medications that works..that has made my quality of life improve so I can enjoy all of the things I am thankful for!

I am thankful for the sun to come up everyday, to give me another chance to do something good for someone else, and love my friends and family!

I am thankful for my life, because I nearly lost it. If I had, I would never have had my children, who mean everything to me. I would never have realized the joy of teaching. I would never have known my best friends who are my family. I would have missed out on so many things that I am humbled with gratitude for being given a second chance at life, not just on Thanksgiving, but every day.

ps? what is thanksgiving ? and why do you celebrate it? especially this close to Xmasthis is the ending of our harvest time here. In a nut shell we set aside this time of year to give thanks to all that we have recieved. not only do we celebrate the harvest, for me any ways, its all about any gifts that I have recieved through out the year and thru out my life time. why its so close t o christmas, well if it wasnt how on earth would we know when to start the christmas shopping. and thank you so much for thel congrats on the new job.

I am thankful that despite my childhood nightmare, I managed to turn into a decent person who has dedicated her life to helping others. I am very proud of myself. I am also thankful for having such a wonderful mother who taught me well in all of life's lessons. I am sad that I never told her that before she died.
