Carol of the Bells
Carol of the Bells is an adaptation of an ancient Ukrainian folk song
called a "shchedrivka". An arrangement by Mykola Leontovych (1877-1921)
was popularized in the 1930's by Oleksander Koshyts (1875-1944), a
Ukrainian choir director who worked in the US and Canada. It has since
become an American Christmas classic.
Hark how the bells,
sweet silver bells,
all seem to say,
throw cares away

Christmas is here,
bringing good cheer,
to young and old,
meek and the bold,

ding dong ding
that is their song
with joyful ring
all caroling

one seems to hear
words of good cheer
from everywhere
filling the air

Oh how they pound,
raising the sound,
o'er hill and dale,
telling their tale,

Gaily they ring
while people sing
songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here,

Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
On on they send ,
on without end,
their joyful tone to every home
Dong Ding dong ding, dong Bong

my close second and I do mean a close second if not tied would be Mary Did You Know.

(buddy greene, mark lowry)

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Did you know
That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that youve delivered
Will soon deliver you

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Did you know
That your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know
That your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little boy
Youve kissed the face of god

Mary, did you know?
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
And the dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the lamb

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy is lord of all creation?
Did you know
That your baby boy will one day rules the nations?
Did you know
That your baby boy is heavens perfect lamb?
This sleeping child youre holding
Is the great I am

Aren't you glade we played with matches?

Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire
Bob Rivers
(Parody of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) by Nat King Cole)

Chipmunks roasting on an open fire
Hot sauce dripping from their toes
(“Oh! That tickles!”)
Yuletide squirrels fresh filleted by the choir
They poked hot skewers through their nose
(“Ow! Wrong end, ya cowboy!”)
Everybody knows some pepper and a garlic clove
Help to make them seasoned right
Tiny rats with a crisp golden coat
Will really hit the spot tonight

And now when Santa sees his tray
(“Ho ho ho ho ho ho”)
There’ll be some homemade chipmunk jerky for his sleigh
(“Mmmm…Hey, look at that!”)
And every hungry child is gonna spy
To see if chipmunks really sing when they fry
And so I’m brushing on some honey glaze
To keep them crisp and juicy too
Let’s hope they get served many times many ways
Tasty Chipmunks; good food

“On that, Mr. Cole, ”
“Yes, sir, Mr. Seville?”
“Would you mind handing me the barbeque sauce? I am starved!”
”Oh,no problem Dave. Hey listen, you best be havin’ two of those drumsticks, because they’re oh-so tiny and there ain’t much meat upon ‘em”
(“What about animal rights, Dave?”)
“Put a sock in it Melvin”
“You know, for years people said you over-rated hamsters were my meal ticket. Now I guess you could just say you’re my meal!”
“That’s a good one, Dave…I always knew you was the funny one in the group!”
“Damn straight!”

And so I'm offering some recipes
From chipmunk pie to chipmunk stew
I’m not really sad that it ended this way
Furry chipmunks screw you

“Did you hear that Melvin? Melvin? Mellllviiiiin?"
“Why, I’m sorry Dave, did you want Melvin? There’s plenty of Thagadore left though…”

Carol of the Bells and this mexican one from my childhood...(I just love the tune, not sure what all the lyrics are, but basically a burro is carrying chocolate and then the basket falls off and the boy cries out to Maria that the burro is eating all the chocolate)

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap>Hacia Belén va un borrico,
Yo me remendaba, yo me remendé,
cargado de chocolate.
Lleva su chocolatera,
Yo me remendaba, yo me remendé,
Yo m'eché un remiendo, yo me lo quité,
su molinillo y su anatre.
Maria, Maria, ven acá corriendo,
que al chocolatillo se lo están comiendo.

En el Portal de Belén,
Yo me remendaba, yo me remendé,
gitanillos han entrado;
y al Niño que está en la cuna
Yo me remendaba, yo me remendé,

Yo me remendaba, yo me remendé,
al Portal llega un gallego;
mientras adoraba al Niño,
Yo me remendaba, yo me remendé,

"Believe"
Josh Groban

Children, sleeping,
Snow is softly falling.
Dreams are calling
Like bells in the distance.
We were dreamers not so long ago.
But one by one,
We all had to grow up.
When it seems the magic's slipped away,
We find it all again on Christmas day.

(chorus)
Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that's playing.
There's no time to waste,
There's so much to celebrate.
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need,
If you just believe.

Trains move quickly to their journey's end.
Destinations are where we begin again.
Ships go sailing far across the sea.
Trusting starlight to get where they need to be.
When it seems that we have lost our way,
We find ourselves again on Christmas day.

(chorus)
Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that's playing.
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate.
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need,
If you just believe.
If you just believe
If you just believe
If you just believe

Just believe
