My son is 19 and works for Frito Lay full time. When he was 16 we paid for his first car but had him pay us pack in payments when he got a job. something he grumbled a little about at the time. well a couple weekes ago my son cam up to me ad said this..
"Dad when you helped me buy my first car it really showed me a lot. I know that you have been unemployed for a little bit and mabe cant do that right now for nicole(his sister who just got her licence) so I would like to to buy her car for her and have her pay me back. That way she learns the same thing the same way I did."
I did not know what to say. Being the "MAN" of the house and needing to be the "great provider" i wanted to tell hime thanks but no thanks we can handle it. But I steped back and though he wants to do this and it is important to him, so told him I thought it would be a wonderfull thing. he got her a 96 dodge neon for 500 bucks. Not only did it help give him a better sence of cotributing to the family, but I think lit brought him and his sister closer. Kids they may drive you crazy, but they can realy touch your heart and make you so proud.:)

Wow, Lunaslobo, what a powerful story, that really says something about how well you have raised him, you should be very proud. It also says a lot about you, putting your pride on the shelf and letting him do that, some men would not have done that. Thanks for sharing your story, it is very heart-warming! I just hope my kids turn out just as good, so far so good, but they are only 6, 3 and 1 1/2! LOL:D
