Does anyone else see it not work well - if at all - during your period? :faint: It works at 25% of its usual "strength", if that.. I drift off into space and have trouble waking up. Then, when my period is over with, Concerta begins to work wonderfully again..
Any pointers on dealing with this? I want it to work of course..!

I've noticed that all my ADD symptoms get worse during my period. Even with medication. hormones wreak havok even without ADD.
Tell me about it :( Is there anything I can do or take to alleviate the symptoms during this time? Or, do I have to tough it out?

AS far as I know, we just have to tough it out. I have seen many report that they have less relief from meds (not only Concerta) during hormonal ahhhhh...situations :o. I personally just warn the people around me ;) and watch for signs of the same in my child.

THe bet you can do it take note of when your period will be and prepaire yourself mentally for it. Know that it won't work at well and knowing that will have you maybe be easier on yourself when the meds don't work.
When it happens to me, I notice a depressed mood and the tendency to snap on people faster and say mean things without intending to. I try to spend more time by myself dureing those times (go shopping, got o a book store) in order to give myself space to relax and prevent myself from getting mad at someone
Thanks for your advice. I keep a journal now and determined the side effects of Concerta not working AT ALL occur on the last day of my period AND the day after it ends. This is terrriiibbllleee :( thanks though
Bump because it's "that time" again. Someone told me that taking certain supplements will make the monthly occurence more bearable. Right now, I can't concentrate at ALL. Does anyone know any good ones?

Are you eating a healthy diet and taking a multi-vitamin? This is extremely important for all people-but can help some with this time of the month. Try a supplement of magnesium and calcium might help some. Also talk to your gyn. If you are on Birth control, you might try one of the types that reduces your periods to 4 or so times a year. You could also have more than PMS-PMDD or something more than PMS. It never hurts to talk to the doc-there are many options for women now that did not exist when I was going through my childbearing years.
