Hi everyone...so here's the deal.

I had a really super bad semester this past semester...and I need to fix it for next semester...but I don't know how to.

I make lists, but don't finish anything on them. I can't seem to finish anything. I'm really freaked out about this and I just wondered if anyone had any tips about studying, or ways to make sure I actually get things done...or actually go to class...

So...any help?

Could be many reasons for the above, perhaps burnout?

I know what you mean, x_dream_of_rain. I'm often in your situation. It's very frustrating.

Lists don't work for me, I might write things down in a sort of brain storming way; "These are the things I need to do, maybe I could do like this, and maybe I could chose x subject for my asignment..". In that way I make myself aware of what I have on my study plate, I can use it to help me remembering or I can just leave it never to look at it again -- it doesn't matter.

I used to write long detailed lists a couple of years ago in attempts to organize my chaotic life. It didn't work. I couldn't follow them. They became a slap in the face instead of a help.

Things that have worked better for me:

Doing asignments, etc in small spurts. Jot down some ideas and throw the paper aside to come back to it later.

Studying for 20 minutes, then get a small reward. (I draw a lot of boxes on a piece of paper and write 20 minutes under each one. Then I set a timer and study for 20 minutes. When it goes off I put a sticker in a box, then decide if I'm fit for another 20 minutes of studying or if I need a break. Once I was studying in 20 minutes spurts and watching Pride and Prejudice in 20 minutes spurts. The stickers aren't only rewards, but let me see how much time I've spent on studying -- often much more than I think.)

Not attempting to finish one thing before I do the next, but rather do a bit of this and then a bit of that. When I get bored with one thing I do something else.

Hyperfocus. Unfortunately I can't control exactly when I'll hyperfocus and on what.

When it comes to going to class I haven't found a method that works for me. Now I take online classes which work very well. Getting to class is what I have struggled with the most.
