if I take Adderall, is it possible to sleep better?

I know, it could go the opposite way

I have slept better, 'cept when I am just too damn anxious, and take doses too late.

I take around 30-40 mg a day now, sleeping deeper.. harder to wake up (not hearing alarm)

thanks for your time, bye

I was once told that a person with ADHD will sleep better once medicated. A psychiatrist told me this (not mine) so far I haven't found this to be true! I usually take the weekends off from taking Adderall 20mg XR in am, 10mg XR in pm. When I take it on Monday again, I have a hard time sleeping that night. Everyone reacts differently.

Lately, (thanks BTW) I am more balanced, not too crazy, not wastoid. I dunno, but the meds are helping.

I understand, I am ADD, therefore I will freak out time to time, but meds are something I must continue. Life is more interesting on meds (IMO)

Thats how I am I cant hear the alarm it will ring for about 3 hrs straight. The thing iv noticed which is kind of weird, its sort of like my adderall knows when I have to wake up..lol one day I can sleep till 230, the next if i have school at 8 in the morning Ill wake up at 7 before my alarm goes off. I dunno its weird, iv noticed that though. The days that im off I wont wake up till around 4 and have slept for 10 -14 hours..

still tryin to figure it out

for me its been up and down. when i first increased my dose from 20 1x to 20 2x, i slept like a rock and that is NOT normal for me. but then like the next week i could barely get any sleep at all, yet not really feeling tired...this week i didnt take the second dose and my sleep has been crap...it fluctuates terribly, i wish it were more predictable

last night I took a 10mg IR before i slept, i was able to wake up in 5 hours, and for the rest of the day I was awesome. Same as today. So i guess i just need it when i sleep also.

this is all more complicated than I previously thought.

anybody have experience w/ alcohol to go to sleep better? it may work, but I discovered that alcohol and adderall do not mix last night.
thanks for replies

i just started taking it and didn't want to become dependent on it to wake up in the morning - i still get up and have a few cups of coffee and feel okay. would it be better to get into a routine of waking up normally and not taking it until mid-morning?

and is it okay to take one benadryl to get to sleep? that seemed to work really well so far.

i dunno, but we need to eat more than one may usually eat.

and it may be better just to stay medicated,
even while sleeping.

I just wanna know what not to take while on adderall,
like vitamins,
herbal sleepy teas,
I jes' wanna know some info on that

I can say that I personally believe very strongly that I get worse sleep on adderall, but that I don't realize it because the adderall the next day overtakes my tiredness. This is a theory--maybe something else causes me to sleep poorly--but from my experience as someone who has taken Adderall XR for a long time, sleep is definitely an issue. Then again I do take XR 2x daily, otherwise the effects wear off early in the afternoon.
