View Full Version : impossible beauty pembroke 12-30-06, 12:00 AM nobody is more beautiful than you (http://bonehead.oddballs.com/NobodyElse.html) VisualImagery 12-30-06, 12:20 AM Pem-have you seen the photos of celebs caught without their make-up and other beauty aids? Nobody is that beautiful in real life-and most of us do not have all the make-up artists to make us look good. Thanks-this is awesome! Gosh, I really am beautiful! EYEFORGOT 12-30-06, 12:33 AM I absoutely loved this! I sent a link to all of my friends and I sent it to my son's e-mail as well. The truth shall set you free. Do they have one on "real men don't all look like ripped super heroes"? EYEFORGOT 12-30-06, 12:34 AM p.s. RaddMom, I've seen you're pic...and it matches your soul...beautiful. AndreaPurple 12-30-06, 12:36 AM :soapbox: This kills me, I mean, these so called "perfect" women don't exsist, so who decides what perfect is???? How can you know it's perfect if you don't have a real perfect woman to compare to?? Am I making sense? I'm having a hard time articulating exactly what I want to say. I just don't understand how we end up with this non-exsistant beauty all around us, in our faces all the time, telling us we aren't good enough. How does it make sense at all???? I mean, I know that we aren't supposed to be "perfect," it's just, who's to say what's perfect and what's not? Just like "normal," what is normal, who decides what is normal, is anyone really normal? *stepping down from the soap box* Ok, I'm done, just had to get that out! LOL EYEFORGOT 12-30-06, 12:57 AM Preach it Sister! :) Crazy~Feet 12-30-06, 01:02 AM OK Pem you've convinced me...maybe I should consider a career in graphics arts...making fake women . See why I got to keep it free? Yuk! VisualImagery 12-30-06, 02:16 AM Pem, This was a really great thread idea! Thanks EyeForgot-really kind and uplifting! http://www.davesdaily.com/pictures/200-celebmakeup.htm http://www.ebaumsworld.com/celeb.html http://www.hereinreality.com/makeup.htm Campaign for Real Beauty Questionnaire and info http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.com/ Jesse 7.0 12-30-06, 01:26 PM I think women who wear glasses are hot! I would rather a woman not wear a lot of make-up. Too much perfume makes me ill. I have a really sensative nose. Please. For the love of all that's Holy! Ladies leave off the stinky crap! My mother is beautiful and she never went out and tanned she doesn't wear a lot of makeup or any of that. She is near blind without her glasses and she is one of the most beautiful women to me. The most beautiful woman and I are having problems right now. Kiisethwa 12-30-06, 04:03 PM JESSE!!!! That is a GREAT reply!! I love this thread :D If I may be cliche: Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder.... I have NEVER seen ANYone who didn't have a pretty / beautiful quality about them. I am DEFINITELY going to show this to our 13 yr old daughter. I know the world can be cruel in the sense of what is considered "beautiful" an don't get me started on the "sex sells" thing. Anyway, I had done a couple of shoots where when I looked at the pics (IMMEDIATELY afterwards) I was like, "That's NOT me!!" I mean, the pics were so beautiful (LOTS of makeup/hair), but that's not what I'd display as being "ME" if that makes sense. Did a couple of shoots, as well, where I asked for MINIMAL photoshop. They'd send me the pics & there wasn't a line on my face...so, I'd reply with , "Ease up on the photo shop, will ya??" ((OK....I don't know what all of that was about....LOL.... Weaning off Eff is making me jabbery. When I type, anyway. I can't talk straight right now for anything!! Stuttering, stammering, etc.)) Jesse 7.0 12-30-06, 07:42 PM JESSE!!!! That is a GREAT reply!! I thank you. :) VisualImagery 12-30-06, 09:25 PM Remember what Dorothy Sayers said? Men who don't make passes at women who wear glasses are as*ses! Jesse, mascara and blush are it, glasses, no perfume ever-stinks, do dye my hair-but that is my only vanity-makes me look a bit younger and less washed out, but choose a natural color. Never smoked. No suntanning-avoid aging and skin cancer. A smile is the best make-up. Smoking also ages prematurely. If you want to look younger, stop the cigs! Other benefits too! Hey, at 52, I get hit on fairly often and men turn and look! It is not just the boobs-which are shrinking with weight loss! Sure makes me feel good! Nice to know you still have it at my age! RADD Jesse 7.0 12-30-06, 11:07 PM I know... I just botched up the one woman who made me realize that I was okay and she is beautiful and I feel there is no way to tell her. I thought she knew. Why isn't there an instruction manual with being a stupid man? We could really use one. oddjobace 12-30-06, 11:19 PM Look for the beauty within. P.S. Until something mean comes out of the mouth. VisualImagery 12-31-06, 12:30 AM I know... I just botched up the one woman who made me realize that I was okay and she is beautiful and I feel there is no way to tell her. I thought she knew. Why isn't there an instruction manual with being a stupid man? We could really use one.The best way to tell her is to tell her. Open and honest-say you were wrong-that is very sexy and loveable. Just tell her from your heart. It speaks very loudly. Be transparent and human. Send her something uniquely appropriate to her-no flowers or candy-too cliched. Ex: if my DH would learn to dance, or choose a special book from my wish list-one of those wonderful used books that is hard to find...... I would melt. Oh, you do come with a guide-women everywhere! :D Most guys don't listen. (tongue in cheek, turn about is fair play too.) Jesse 7.0 12-31-06, 12:33 AM I will admit it. I have a problem with my appearance. Yes. It happens to men too. I feel like my arms are not big enough and that my stomach is not flat enough. It is almost there, just not quite. I rollerblade, but do not work out. I find it boring. I can never look as handsome as I want to be. My mom says I am fine. VisualImagery 12-31-06, 12:37 AM Hey, I have seen really good looking guys who are ugly because their personality sucks dirt like a hoover. There is more to sexy than looks. Much more! In fact..... I like men a little flawed, bald especially! Hey, No woman is perfect! I have many surgery scars and a flabby baby belly-3 kids. Who the heck cares! I used to, but not no more. Oh, you do come with a guide-women everywhere! :D Most guys don't listen. (tongue in cheek, turn about is fair play too.)I did send her some things very unique to us and it hasn't gotten there yet (she lives in Mexico) Everything was going well, but I had screwed up and she tried to forget but it came back. I am not without blame. I was a fool. I did send her some explanations to her email, but I think she shut it down. :( She closed off her part to one site. I am so stupid. I should have turned left instead of right. I didn't do anything right. I wish I knew what I could do... I just want to hear her voice again and she doesn't want to talk. VisualImagery 12-31-06, 12:40 AM I am so sorry. Here is a cyber tissue. Hugs. Can't kiss this and make it better. But my heart goes out to you. Sniff. Jesse 7.0 12-31-06, 12:42 AM I am so sorry. Here is a cyber tissue. Hugs. Can't kiss this and make it better. But my heart goes out to you. Sniff.Thank you. I cried in my mother's lap tonight (I am home from school break). VisualImagery 12-31-06, 01:04 AM Welcome-turning 30 soon? Same bday as husband! funny! Sink yourself into your art! It is healing. Jesse 7.0 12-31-06, 01:08 AM Welcome-turning 30 soon? Same bday as husband! funny! Sink yourself into your art! It is healing.I will be 31 in April. Oh... her birthday is in April... is there no end to all the things that remind me of her? Jeez. I can't even think of my own birthday without thinking hers is four days before mine. :( VisualImagery 12-31-06, 01:11 AM Jesse, it takes two to tango remember? Bet it is not all your fault! Don't be too hard on yourself! She is far away-you don't know what is going on. Jesse 7.0 12-31-06, 01:15 AM Jesse, it takes two to tango remember? Bet it is not all your fault! Don't be too hard on yourself! She is far away-you don't know what is going on. Yes, but I forgave her for what she did. I am confused... VisualImagery 12-31-06, 01:28 AM I made a nice reply but it got lost! Hugs. Maybe she wanted to do it, maybe she hurt you on purpose, maybe, this just sucks dirt. Love is hard, sometimes it needs to let go, maybe it will return, maybe it won't. Don't know what to tell you, just hang in there and focus on your art. Just don't cut your ear off! Or anything else! Jesse 7.0 12-31-06, 01:30 AM I'd rather remember her for what she did for me and how she was always sweet to me. She was a great friend to me. Maybe she just couldn't handle it anymore? I am not the easiest to associate with. She helped me and was more of a friend to me than many people I have met. VisualImagery 12-31-06, 01:32 AM Remember the good stuff-you are on track! That is priceless! Jesse 7.0 12-31-06, 01:35 AM Remember the good stuff-you are on track! That is priceless!Yes. Yes it is... Paws13 12-31-06, 03:18 PM nobody is more beautiful than you (http://bonehead.oddballs.com/NobodyElse.html) You know, they should put more of THESE video clips on TV instead of the garbage that they do put. pembroke 12-31-06, 03:22 PM agreed. but that wouldn't sell.... meadd823 01-01-07, 07:42 AM OK Pem you've convinced me...maybe I should consider a career in graphics arts...making fake women . See why I got to keep it free? Well CF if ya ever decide to really do pic edit of real women I already know some one who is a natural at doing make-up and she has been cutting hair sense she was eight because a straight line with a pair of scissors is a foreign concept me especially when it comes to hair. . . . because we were often to broke to pay any one out of survival one of my daughter took matters into her own hands and did better than me the first rattle of the sack. . . . . she was the first one I sent this tooo She has always compared herself to other girls that were built differently. She felt because I was small I didn't understand but I did. I always told her she had the real magic not them. . . . . so this was a two-fer for me. Not only are these only images but some one paints over the flaws. . . . It is the same old shove people in a socially desirable box and not give a **it about the emotional effects. Diversity intolerance that hurts our daughters because we as a society focus too much on the wrong kind of beauty. . . . RRREality if given enough time to live our physical appearance ends up old and wrinkly in the end. . . . no matter what we do. . . so why waste what ya got worrying about what you don’t. . . . we don’t have physical perfection big deal we would just loose it or screw it up any way. Kiisethwa 01-01-07, 03:54 PM My mom said it should be shown in schools! WHAT a GREAT idea!!! Since I MAY be the SRO (school resource officer), I may just do that. Have a class/seminar or something and show that. Jesse 7.0 01-01-07, 03:55 PM My mom said it should be shown in schools! WHAT a GREAT idea!!! Since I MAY be the SRO (school resource officer), I may just do that. Have a class/seminar or something and show that. Cool!!!:D Imnapl 01-02-07, 02:06 AM Nice to know you still have it at my age! . . . in praise of older women . . . sosninity 01-02-07, 02:30 AM I have 3 daughters who will very soon be aged 18, 23, and 28. All went through a "make-up" phase, some more intensely or longer than the others, but all now wear little or no make-up. I am so proud of them! I'm in my 50's and don't dye my hair. I wear light powder make-up for its SPF value (have had skin cancer). Just started wearing eye shadow about a year ago because putting on the colors is fun. Wear lip gloss for SPF value too. |
